I got a V3 card from a friend and it's a bit strange. It has no screw holes in a cooler, and no hole on the back on the card for TV-out. But it has TV-out! I drilled a hole and it works. The cooler is like a usual V3 3000 cooler(silver one). The card was working as as V3 2000 until i changed it's bios. Now it's a 3000 (working just fine @190+ MHz). I'll take a picture of it and post it here. Any comments?
hmm just a later model of the Voodoo3 2000 PCI but then with SGRAM Memory layout, the PCB is somewhat of a light green colour. The card it's self is usually a Rev.D 0700 if it's a Voodoo3 2000, if it's a Voodoo3 3000 PCI with SGRAM it will be in most cases a Rev.D 1700 and if it's a Voodoo3 2000 PCI with SGRAM and a small black heatsink, then it's a Rev.D 5399 or older :)
so there were2 Voodoo3 2000's with SGRAM one with a black heatsink and the later model with a Aluminium coloured heatsink and the Voodoo3 3000 PCI SGRAM with a large Aluminium coloured heatsink like on most Voodoo3's and yes all 3 don't have mounting holes, the heatsinks were mounted with adhessive paste on a glue basis.[8D]
It's AGP V3! But what is with the missing TV-out hole? It was 2000 but i've put 3000 bios on it! I'll take a picture of it these days!
maybe the metal support was replaced....
it makes non sens to cover the hole..
My friend's uncle was the owner, and he's not the one to do it. It's a really good card that works at almost 200 MHz!
hmm how about posting some pics like you requested eh?
