Hi. I installed the mesa fx, and when im run quake 3 or other games, the refresh rate is set to 75 :( Why? I have 3dfx 1.07.00 driver. I dont want to install amigamerlin, because is bad. (colin mcrae rally 2 freezing...)
Anyone cant help me?
set your desktop to the same resoultion as the game,16-bit.choose the frequency (desktop settings, advanced, adapter),apply.go back to your native resolution.the new frequency for the game resolution will be stored.launch the game.
I do this!!!
and its not working... I setup to 85, and when im running the game is revert to 75... :(:(:(:(:(:(
hm.maybe the game is overriding your setting? you can try this for quake3:
Another useful command is r_display_refresh which allows the monitor refresh rate to be set. This command also requires a vid_restart when entered via the console.
that means open the q3 console, and type:
\set r_display_refresh 85
hit enter,and type
\vid_restart
hit enter.see if that helps.
thx, but all games I running whit mesa fx is in 75 hz! :(
I try this is quake 3, and its not working... I type to the console, than vid_restart, and its 75hz again... :(:(:(:(
Are you sure that your monitor allows the 85 hz in the resolution you chose ?
Yeeees! I always play whit 85 hz! (whitout mesafx:( [800x600 85hz]
anyone can send here his glide3x.dll (whit 800x600 85 hz setting) ? please
the refresh settings are not stored in glide dlls, they are stores in the registry.the problem you are experiencing is VERY weird,I'm using mesafx on 4 pcs with different voodoo cards and never had something like that.try forcing the refresh via bat file:
create a txt file in your quake3 folder (run.txt for example),and put in following:
set FX_GLIDE_REFRESH=85
quake3.exe
exit and save changes.rename the file to run.bat, and launch the bad.see what happens..
