voodoo5 pci with dvi£¬ now its bios is ver1.11
i want to update to bios1.18 with dvi enable.
when i used flash program, it can't identify my v5's eprom.
how can i do for it?
If you are trying to flash your BIOS from a DOS window within WinXP, it won't work. You have to boot your PC from a boot disk and then flash the BIOS.
I just do it in dos after reboot with a boot cd...
my maiboard is nforce2, perhaps...
if you have a little patience I say all the programs to you and what you must do for flash your BIOS.

You CAN NOT do the flash in a DOS window if you boot to WinXP. You will need to boot to DOS, Win95 or Win98. Ues a boot disk and then do the flash.
If you don't have a boot disk you can get and OS boot disk you want from here.

Where did you get your flash utility and BIOS file?
You might have an older flash utility.

i juse got bios file from this web and flash my bios according the FAQ, and failed.
a question : your card, is it a Mac version ?

Cannot do that. 1.18 bios is only for the AGP cards.

Most likely because u r using an AGP bios update on a pci card
AFAIK only the mac V5 had a DVI output......which u could do a bios flash to work on pc.

the 1.18 bios with digital output can be used on pci card...
in the page http://welcome.to/3dfxbios it tell how to update your bios if you don´t undertand it.
1º you have a boot disk (Windows 98 SE).
2º you have a flash utility "dos4gw.exe" & the Bios file in other disk.
3º Reboot & insert the boot disk, choose" no cd compatibility" & wait to it finish
4º copy the flash utility & the bios file to Ramdisk,
5º execute the bios utility & flash your bios , wait about 20-30 seconts to finish.
6º reboot.
I believe that that is everything
