Title: 3dfx Power Supply?
Post by: PanoramixDruida on 02 September 2009, 20:18:48
Hey!, I'm from Argentina and I saw at the local e-Bay like web page (MercadoLibre) a guy that sells a 3dfx 500W Power Supply. I'm really surprised because the box has printed the newer 3dfx logo on it what it makes it look more real. Did you know about 3fdx producing power supplies?. And if it's a 500W it should have no more than 2 years old. Here's the link (in spanish): http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.ar/MLA-58205236-fuente-atx-24pin-3dfx-500w-reales-_JM

Hi,
And what does the seller say about that ?
He's selling a 600w and a 700w power supply too.
Well, NVIDIA purchased from 3dfx certain graphics assets, which include.... trademarks, brand names....
But I don't think that NVidia is interested by the power supplies.

I've asked the seller if they trully are 3dfx brand ones. Let's see what he/she replies.

Seller has replied that "for the way it looks like, it's a 3dfx one. The product is excellent". I don't know why, but I don't believe the seller. I think the manufacturer is using 3dfx logo, but it's not being produced by 3dfx. [xx(]
