I got a V3 card from a friend and it's a bit strange. It has no screw holes in a cooler, and no hole on the back on the card for TV-out. But it has TV-out! I drilled a hole and it works. The cooler is like a usual V3 3000 cooler(silver one). The card was working as as V3 2000 until i changed it's bios. Now it's a 3000 (working just fine @190+ MHz). I'll take a picture of it and post it here. Any comments?

Can voodoo3 3000 be installed on MSi 845 pro2 MB? Is there any voltage problem?

Something stupid happened to me 4 times. On four different computers (all with athlon cpu's) the Win XP install failed. First time I didn't know what went wrong, it just stopped while transfering the files from CD to HDD (it couldn't copy some files). So I tried again, and again, and again...[:(!]
After 5 hours (stupid me), I checked the CPU temp in bios. It was over 60°C!!! I've opened the case, put HUGE fan to blow inside it, and then - VIOLA! That happened 3 more times, and each time the problem was solved with the "huge fan". The last time cpu temp was around 45°C, but still it didn't work (maybe the sensor was a junk). I install WinXP very often, but this only happened to me with athlon CPU's. It's just amazing. The owners of those computers never had any problems with them in everyday work (never crashed or something), but CPU's simply refuse to install WinXP if you don't get a nice big fan for them.
So people, if you go somewhere to install XP, don't forget the fan.;)

I have celeron 433 cpu, 192 MB ram, voodoo3 3000 @190Mhz, dx 9.0, 4.12.01.1213 version of drivers (they were on CD I got with v3 card). I was wondering which DirectX should I use. I was using DirectX 8.1, and when I installed 9.0 i noticed slight drop of 3DMark score (99 max). How should I know in the future (if I change something in my PC) which DirectX is best choice for my computer? How that depends on cpu, memory, graphics card, driver version? I believe this is something people should know.

I have Intel BI440ZX mb with celeron 433 cpu. With this mb it's almost impossible to overclock cpu. But I've installed SoftFSB and now it is possible(just software OC). The problem is: I can't make the FSB to run at 75 Mhz, only 66, 83, 100... 66 is normal with this CPU, but 83 is too much (539 Mhz!!!). 75 would be a fine choice, and system would not crash after 10 sec as it is so with 83 Mhz FSB. Is there a solution?

Check this out!
I have v3 3k @ 190Mhz, celeron 433, 192 MB ram, win98se, dx 8.1. I've installed 3dmark 99 max (full) to do some testing. I scored 2950 3d marks with old drivers (don't know version), and then I tried with the drivers I got with v3 card (4.12.01.1213). Result changed to 3320. It's OK, I guess the drivers are better. I even got more fps in Q3Arena (timedemo). BUT!!! I downclocked my v3 to 125 Mhz, just for fun, to see the 3dmark result. IT'S A SAME! Q3Arena is much slower, fill rate droped down for almost 50%, but 3dmark score isn't changed. How is that possible???
I've just downloaded Amigamerlin 2.9. Is that a good choice?

I have v3 3000 oveclocked to 190 Mhz. It's not so hot, because I put a 50mm fan on the heatsink (about 50°C on the gpu). But before I put the fan it was so damn hot (over 70°C for sure). Now, heatsink is about 25°C when i don't play games, and about 35-40°C when I play something. Im satisfied with these numbers, but does anyone what is the normal working temperature for these cards when they are not overclocked? (and without fan)
