It's possible for me to play Halfe Life 1 in Glide/OpenGL mode and would I have better performances than Direct3D mode ?

World of Warcraft game slowing down with the sfft alph 33 driver associated with 3dfxTools(fastest performance without AA) and I play with 800x600 24bit.I think that it uses Direct3D,but I am certain that it uses Hardware T&L that the Voodoo5 doesn't have.

I have Gigabyte motherboard and voodoo 5 5500 agp, I want to know if 2x enabled AGP rate (by default) of motherboard can reduce graphic card capacities ?  
I have verify the AGP rate of Motherboard in 3DMark2001 se in and it' specified that : 1x, 2x, 4x (2x enabled).

I use SFFT Alpha33 + 3dfxTools.My system is below.
1)With Fastest Performance and 2 sample Anti-Aliasing modes:
I set video options by default,800x600 32bit resolution and I got a good image quality but the game is slow.
2)With Single Chip Only (compatibility mode):
I set video options as above and I got the same image quality but the game is more fast.
