Voodoo4/5 Discussions / What memory?

How do I recognize the type of memory my card has? All I see are some serial numbers. If that helps then i'll copy them.

Cheers

PS: Its a Voodoo 5 5500 PCI - Made in Mexico

Celeron D 2,4 Ghz
512 RAM
Voodoo 5 5500 PCI
SFFT latest release

Thats the best I could get, same results (speed included) for high settings.

Didn't try other drivers.

Well, just wondering if showing a screen could give anyone a clue as to any possible solution?

1.1.2   KNOWN ISSUES
The game might slow down on some DirectX 9 adapters if too many units are visible on the screen. If the problem presents itself, it is recommended to disable dynamic shadows or to run the game in DirectX 8 mode, available under options.

Catch the demo here here, it comes with a DX8 and a DX9 executable, and so far i've only gotten the nexus loading screen to work by running the DX8 one with any of disable lighting/force soft tl/emulate htl but then it quits to desktop

Has anyone been able to run this DX8.1 game without getting the BSOD every single time? I have tried every single available driver, and 3da doesn't change a thing. Someone willing to try it out? Here's the demo -> http://www.megagames.com/news/html/demos/imperiumgalactica3genesisdemo.shtml

Thats all,

Well, i've tried it all, i give up.

Despite the fact this game SHOULD work under Win XP (it works under Win 98) it does not. I've tried many drivers, currently running the AM 3.0 XP drivers. Tried many things in 3d Analyzer but didn't reach anything.

So has anyone got any idea how to get the game running?

Facts:
Works on win 98 with AM 2.9 drivers and AM 3.0
Its a DirectX 8.1 game, and many DX 9 games work with V5

My Sys Specs:
Voodoo 5
Win XP
256 DDR

The only thing you have to enable in freelancer (under win xp - voodoo 5 5500 - NuDrivers 2k) is directx textures and the game will work with no textures missing
