i don't know many people who own a V5 6000, this is probably your case...

anyway like this card supports only the Agp 2x 3.3 v, the best and last platform would be a chipset Via KT333 or perhaps some chipsets Sis

hello:

I have a SOYO KT-400 DRAGON PLATINIUM EDITION, you canĀ“t install a voodoo 5 6000 on your board because your board only supoort 1.5v AGP cards.

which Dragon lite is it cuz im in the same situtation i have a V5 5500 and ive discoverd the voltage supposedly being 3.3V on this one but i also noticed in looking at SOYO site that the KT333 Dragon lite may support it but not sure of the voltage range on it but it does say (1x,2x,4x)in the notes so  anyone have ideas cuz im a small predicament and want a kt400 chipset or i may have to see about this 333 chip cuz i have a AMD xp2600 that maybecome usesless cuz id have to underclock it to use it        http://www.soyousa.com/products/proddesc.php?id=58

With a KT333 and a V5 5500, you must absolutely avoid the version CF (like the Soyo SY-KT333 DRAGON Plus) because this version of the chipset KT333 supports only the Agp 1.5 v (4x, sure and perhaps 2x but always in 1.5 v)

Normally, you will have no problem with your V5 on a mobo SY-KT333 DRAGON Lite

The problem is perhaps with your cpu : a XP 2600+ (Thoroughbred)
2 versions of this cpu exist :
- 1) core speed : 2.13 ghz and 266 mhz fsb (2*133)
- 2) core speed : 2.083 ghz and 333 mhz fsb (2*166)

according Soyo, with a SY-KT333 DRAGON Lite, only the version 1) (2.13 ghz and 266 mhz fsb) is supported by the mobo
so you must look with many care your cpu

And if you own the version 2) (2.083 ghz and 333 mhz), with Soyo, you must upgrade towards the versions KT333 CF or KT400/(A) which don't support the bus Agp 3.3 v and are not compatible this way with your V5...
you can try to find an other mobo KT333 (not CF) which supports the XP2600+
i know Asus (A7V333 but avoid the A7V333 X because this is a KT333 CF)) but also Albatron (the series KX400+) and probably other exist...

just go for an ecs l7s7a2.... its better then a kt400 mobo, and beats the nforce2 in disk performance....

ECS L7SA2 is not compatible with many Voodoocards

the chipset Sis 746 supports only the Agp 4x/8x like the KT400 or the Nforce 2...

The best motherboards come from ABIT or Epox. Personaly I am more of an ABIT fan, 'cos those are just better. Their's BIOS overclocking abilities of the new NF-7 are best of all, even Epox. And when the new KT600 comes out, ABIT will be the winner, and my next motherboard for my beloved V5 PCI. :) That doesn't aply to the v6k owners. [B)]
