I think those damn DXTC textures cause this dreadful image. I think the only way is to convert those textures. Maybe it can be done manually, every texture can be accessed. But I am not sure if the map will give errors like can't find texture.
yes ,this is possible to do
with map isnt problem ( Q3 have in maps textures without extension and in loading function testing what texture type exist on HDD)

Is the last image a example of how it looks with normal textures???
Or are these still the normal DXtc ones, look at the arm that seems to look normal? And I thought that some of the textures in CoD are not Dxtc, which is probably why tha arm looks correct.

@Doom nice work,
About those .jpg textures. Didn't the .tga textures work as well as the .jpg ones? You where right with the lighting being incorrect, maybe something can be done by software emulation? I don;t know what exactly has been changed in the Quake3 engine in the lighting department, but I do now that exactly the lighting in the CoD engine is changed I will search if it is something that the V2 can't support.
yes .tga textures works ok, but i dont have HDD space fot .tga
lighting problem is now fixed:

The pictures are surprizing !
(what's the problem with the hdd ?)

wow....
it's really a improvement compared to the initial screenshot to the screenshot now...
Doom, you've done another fantastic job!!
Indeed, Doom your very good/talented at this. its looking great ;)
Are you still planning on some tweaks for Doom 3 and VSA 100 cards (Voodoo 4 & 5) ?
Gwhahaha... You surely proved those guys wrong that where convincing me that it was impossible to run this game on the V2. You OGLx 2.0 is improving.
yes,he proved me wrong..never using the word "impossible" again..[xx(]
Doom, so you are the developer of oglX ?
can you tell us something more about this driver (some background/problems/ideas)?
btw, nice work man ;)
Voodoo5:
yes ,but now not only for V4/5 ,but for V2/3 too.
because with oglx is possible to run Doom3 with lighting on V2 SLI(but fps is low ( 5 - 30 )
r21vo:
yes im developer of oglx;
OglX isnt realy driver its only OpenGl wrapper
main idea is do better compatibily for OpenGl games and Voodoo cards
(in oglx will be have lot of settings, which can be helpful for running OpenGl games) and as next thing some FPS optimalization, because doom 3 realy need it;;
Do I need OglX to start CoD? If I don't need it, how can I start it? I've been proving changing a lot of variables and setting MesaFX variables to support 1024x1024 textures but the game don't let me to enter. Have I resize textures?
And finally, somebody knows how can I log the game start before enter to it?
Thanks a lot.
Yes, OglX is needed for COD, texture resizing.
I want to ask if there are any news in OglX for run CoD or Doom3 in a Voodoo2 or Voodoo2 SLI?
I'm surprised with this OpenGL wrapper and I hope it continues in development ;)
Yes, patch will be ready in few days

OMFG!!!!!!!!!1111111
the newest screenshot is extremely nice for a V2 SLI...
i have to say, just by seeing this screenshot alone, i will never think of it's running on V2SLI
Hail to Doom..
OGLX is completed? where can I download
nope,it aint done yet.
simply amazing,voodoo rox :D
you are the king i hope the release is soon as its put the pants back on my 3dfx card.
all hale the king
I wonder when Doom finishes the first stable OGLX for CoD.
I am wondering how he is putting OGLX together...
pssst,dont tell anyone,but the first release shoud be coming very soon (think days) ;)
@Doom:
is it possible to implement forcable texture compression in oglx?
oglx is for voodoo2/3.it fakes texture compression,so it cannot force it!
On the first page he wrote, that oglx is also for voodoo4/5...
it can be used to gain some speed.you can use the doom3 voodoo2 patch on a v5 as well.it will be faster than mesafx_d3,but uglier.the main reason for oglx to exist is to fake texture compression,not to force it..
47 i might seem a little piky but u can use doom3 v2 patch 1.0 in line with the v5? how do i do it? and i know u said its comming out soon (oglx) but how soon it just looks so promissing i can t wait.
regards
you can use the doom3 v2 patch with a voodoo5 the same way you would use it for voodoo2.it will be ugly,but fast..
