WizMark (1.94mb) is a 3D performance benchmark created by 3Dfx Interactive, Inc. at 1996 that measures the performance of Microsoft's Direct3D(tm) and 3D hardware accelerators. The benchmark utilizes essential 3D rendering features which provide enhanced visual realism. These features include: gouraud shading, perspective correct texture-mapping, Gouraud modulated texture mapping, texture bilinear filtering, texture LOD mip mapping, alpha-blending and Z-buffering.

No offense or anything, but even my OC'ed PII should laugh in the face of a benchmark program created in 1996, that was the earlyPentium era, mixed with the all-new Voodoo Graphics chipset. But I'll download it anyways, just for kicks...

Nobody forces you to d/l or use this benchmark and where is written that this benchmark is for now ? it was written in
1996 by
3Dfx and has one merit : it exists and like all the drivers, the demos etc... belongs to "Our" history.
But it works and if you try it, you will obtain high scores !
:)
amp_man, I'm agree with MOD Nightbird post. It's a measurement tool written by 3dfx (!) and this is for us The reason to give it to people that would grab a software component of 3dfx working...

lecram25, your image isn't loaded...
lecram, what goes on in your head....on second thought, never mind...anyways, I was simply questioning the signifigance of such a benchmark, becuase it would attempt to compare a (fairly) modern system to ancient technology....never mind, I just never intended to start a flame war....besides, who cares if 3Dfx created a benchmark? It would obviously show 3Dfx cards to be far superior to other cards or software rendering, because that's what 3Dfx intended, creating an unbiased one would not be good for business, unless they knew damn well their cards would blow everything else away...but that's my opinion, feel free to have your own.

well, since the benchmark is from 1996, and 3dfx really didnt have any significant rival then, i wouldnt be surprised if the benchmark actually wasnt biased, but based on the functions dictated by directx back then... but ofcourse i could be wrong.... lets all post benchmark scores, both form voodoo and non-voodoocards... :)
