amp_man, stay out of this...

Amiga, you said

QuoteEheheh I must correct it !! THE_ONLY_ONE is in italy  there is only one prototipe that works and IT is in italy !! On the home page of 3dfxzone.it you can see the mini review of it !!

Your initial statement says that there's only one card...so how do you figure when a whole bunch of us at x3dfx know for sure that there are two cards, and those two pics prove it...I didn't say two working cards, all I said was that there were two!

Lecram25 , no problem ;).
Sorry, I have thought in different way !! :)
However I have writed too

why didn't 3dfx build the dongle into the card itself?

Well, AFAIK, the problem was with the DAC! That was one neglected part in the simulator :D

But then again, AFAIK...

amp_man, there wasn't going to be a dongle in the final retail card...the donlge is there just to flip the RGB channel, or in this case, BGR?(not too sure about that)...they used a dongle because Rampage was put together in such a hurry that the RGB channel was inverted, lol, hence the dongle...

well, my 56k didn't exactly appreciate it, but they're worth the wait. and lecram, don't bother telling me to stay out of anything, I'm just more likely to get into it, lol

btw, why did you argue that there was only 1 rampage, when the pics you just posted show little differences between both cards, aside from the hs/fan, the most obvious ones are the clump of sodier near the power supply connector and the marks on the black cushion-looking things on the board. also, a few places where resistors on one board are on slightly sloppy that are cleaned up on the other.

First off, I told you to stay out of it as this was between amiga and I, secondly, I never argued that there was only one card...go reread the thread; I argued that there were at least two different cards that the Italian guy had...
But guess what amp_man, I have a little treat for you since, you are unable to see the differences, even though I provided high res scans...*sigh*

Enjoy [:p]

i just forgot who was arguing what....

and DO NOT tell me to stay out of things. You are not a mod, you have no right to state such things.
