 10.05.2008   MSI annuncia la video card GeForce N9600GT Hybrid Freezer
 

Si chiama N9600GT Hybrid Freezer la nuova media tutta grinta tra le GeForce di fascia mainstream firmate MSI. Il produttore taiwanense ha annunciato la video card mediante il comunicato stampa di seguito allegato. La feature più rilevante di questo prodotto è senza dubbio il sistema di raffreddamento, che è di tipo dual-slot, per la realizzazione del quale MSI è ricorsa a quattro heat pipe in rame da 6mm che hanno permesso l'installazione di una ventola silenziosissima (28dBA) che l'elevata efficienza delle heat pipe permette di disattivare al di sotto dei 40°C. Questo approccio viene indicato da MSI con il nome di tecnologia "Hybrid Freezer".

Per il resto, si tratta di una classica 9600GT basata sul chip grafico G94 prodotto in tecnologia a 65nm e dotato di 64 unità di stream. La N9600GT Hybrid Freezer è equipaggiata con 512Mb di RAM G-DDR3 la cui interazione con la gpu avviene attraverso un bus a 256-bit. La connettività con la motherboard è di tipo PCI-Express 2.0.

Utilizing the Hybrid Freezer technology, users can strictly monitor the temperature and control the ventilation for a more silent operation, high computing performance and effective heat dissipation. This graphics card is based on 65nm G94 GPU and includes 64 stream processors, and DDR memory on 256-bit memory interface. It also supports the latest technology such as NVIDIA SLI Technology with PCI-Express 2.0 interface for blistering graphics performance. The N9600GT Hybrid Freezer comes with the "Hybrid Freezer" cooling technology that boasts the most power-saving environmental protection and the most efficient Hybrid Freezer cooling radiators. It provides users the most quiet and power-efficient application environment. The Hybrid Freezer cooling technology has a built-in fan interior fan for temperature control and utilizes 6mm thick heat pipes for effective thermal conductivity. The temperature will continue to monitor the heat of the GPU. When system executing 3D application and the temperature is higher, the fan will start rotating and will quickly disperse the heat. As executing 2D applications and the temperature is lower, the fan will automatically stop. The heat pipes and fins will remove the GPU's heat. Moreover, MSI did not hesitate to utilize the 6mm thick heat pipes even if it cost more. Compared to the 5mm which is usually used in heat pipes, the 6mm thick heat pipes offer 20% more conducting power and provide the most efficient radiation speed.

Supports PureVideo HD for the Ultimate HD Movie Experience

The N9600GT series supports NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology which delivers outstanding picture clarity, ultra-smooth video, vivid color, and precise image scaling for video and HD DVD and Blu-ray movies. It also provides ultra-smooth playback of H.264, VC-1, WMV and MPEG-2 HD and standard-definition movies with minimal CPU use. It brings a new level of movie-viewing experience, with high-definition image quality far surpassing standard-definition DVDs. Moreover, the N9600GT series also offers World-class TV-out functionality via Composite, S-Video, Component or DVI connections at resolutions up to 1080i/1080p – the highest HD resolution available.
