MARKHAM, Ontario, Mar 07, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY)(NASDAQ:ATYT), the world leader in mobile PC graphics processors, has once again raised the bar for notebook gaming with the launch of its Mobility Radeon X1800 series. Delivering the world's fastest gaming performance in today's most graphically intensive games-including Shader Model 3.0- the feature-rich Mobility Radeon X1800 XT takes the lead in the highly competitive notebook gaming segment and is closely followed by Mobility Radeon X1800.

Bringing the raw performance of the award-winning Radeon X1800 series to the "enthusiast-class" notebook, the Mobility Radeon X1800 series blazes through 3D games and multimedia applications like no other notebook graphics solution on the market. In addition, ATI's new Avivo technology for enhanced video playback enables a high-definition digital entertainment experience that breaks new ground through its superior delivery of stunning visuals and unmatched image quality.

"Mobility Radeon X1800 XT is a gamer's dream. This card delivers on every count-it's blistering fast," said Nick Boardman, CEO, rock. "We are thrilled to be the first to market with Mobility Radeon X1800 XT in our Xtreme CTX notebook and giving our customers a new way to experience the next generation of shader-intensive games and high definition visuals."

Mobility Radeon X1800 series will drive notebooks from such industry leading partners such as Alienware, Boxx, Eurocom, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Hypersonic, rock, Savrow and Voodoo PC.

"The fact that ATI has had over 70 per cent of the mobile discrete market share for 11 consecutive quarters reflects our commitment to pushing the mobile technology envelope," said David Cummings, Director of ATI's Mobile Business Unit. "Being a leader is more than just about having the fastest graphics. It's about delivering advanced performance features that are unique to ATI-such as our ability to support high dynamic range rendering with anti-aliasing at the same time in our Mobility Radeon X1800 series of graphics processors."

Mobility Radeon X1800 series offers a broad range of features which deliver an unparalleled visual experience on the notebook including:

- Unmatched graphics performance and efficiency with new ultra-threaded 3D architecture and ring bus memory controller

- Fast and efficient 3D image quality for best looking games at break-neck frame rates

- Avivo technology for high definition video and display perfection

- Full support for Catalyst Mobility to empower notebook users with access to the latest Catalyst driver support
