Amigamerlin's 3.1 R11 driver set is on line and available for public download.
This new driver set is based on Alpha 29 Direct3D core, contains a new opengl library and it's the first Amigamerlin release with a "new our dll".
The installation program will correctly install to the system a dxtn.dll. This DLL, which we have discuss here, it will be only a container lacking of functions. The user should replace it with the real one compiling the source from Daniel Borca's site. Any way drivers will works well also without the replacement. We chose this solution to prevent copyright problems.
What's new?
D3D Section
- New D3D section from Alpha29 of SFFT with a great DX9 compatibility and high performance increase
- Need for speed now can be playable at 800x600x32bit
- Virtual Rally 3 now run smoothly, does NOT REQUIRE 3DAnalyzer, and can be playable 800x600x32bit e FSAA2x bit with Voodoo5 5500 and 1024x768x32 2xFSAA with Voodoo5 6000 with 100% in performance increase !!
- Halo in game some texture and perfomance problem are gone but there is a lot to do to be fully playable
- Mafia, GTA3, GTA3 Vice City, Spiderman the Movie (require T&L patch) UT2003, UT2004, Max Vietcong, Payne, Max Payne 2 F1GP4, all have quality and speed improvement.
Opengl Section
- New Opengl Section and addedd a new dll:DXTN.dll!! The improvements regard in particular T&L routine. All games tried show FPS increase and higher compatibility of new Dxtn.dll.
- Testing was done with Call of Duty, Call Of Duty United Offensive, MOHAA, MOH Breakthru, MOH Spearhead, RTCW, Enemy Territory, Star Wars Jedy Knight, Star Wars – Jedy Outcast, Serious Sam Second Encounter, Never Winter Night. Most of them were demos, but the new DLL should will works fine also in complete games.
Jointly with the new driver release will be available an HOW TO INSTALL guide (sorry, in italian only at this moment) to avoid any setup problems. Installation must be executed NECESSARILY through the video card control panel.

Sono online gli Amigamerlin 3.1 R11!! Il nuovo set di driver contiene il core D3D degli Alpha 29, una nuova libreria opengl particolamente qualitativa e perfomante e, novità inedita, la l'aggiunta di una “nostra nuova” DLL al pacchetto standard. l’installer provvederà a correttamente installare nel sistema anche la dxtn.dll. Tale DLL, della quale si è discusso nel topic relativo alle MesaFx Vs. Quake III, è soltanto un contenitore vuoto privo di funzione alcuna. Toccherà poi soggettivamente sostituirla con quella reale con la compilazione dalle stessa dai sorgenti disponibili sul sito di Daniel Borca. La non sostituzione comunque non pregiudica il corretto funzionamento del set. Abbiamo optato per tale scelta al fine di prevenire ogni problematica di copyright.
Novità
Sezione D3D
- Nuova e performante sezione D3D con una compatibilità più elevata con le Dx9 e con incrementi di performance degni di nota
- Need for speed underground ora risulta giocabile anche ad 800x600x32bit
- Vrtual Rally 3 è perfettamente giocabile a 800x600x32bit e FSAA2x con Voodoo5 5500 ed a 1024x768x32bit FSAA2x con Voodoo5 6000 con un incremento di performance del 100% e NON RICHIEDE 3DA per partire !!
- In Halo sono state risolte alcune problematiche di texture e di performance ma ne permangono altre
- Mafia, GTA3, GTA3 Vice City, Spiderman the Movie (richiede patch T&L) UT2003, UT2004, Max Vietcong, Payne, Max Payne 2 F1GP4, hanno un migliorata qualità visiva oltre ad un incremento in perfomance.
Sezione Opengl
- Rinnovata la sezione Opengl ed implementata una nuova dll:DXTN.dll.I miglioramenti riguardano sopratutto le routine del T&L. Tutti i giochi che ho provato hanno denotato incrementi in FPS, ed una ottima compatibilità della nuova Dxtn.dll.
- Il test è stato effettuato con molti titoli ed esattamente Call of Duty, Call Of Duty United Offensive, MOHAA, MOH Breakthru, MOH Spearhead, RTCW, Enemy Territory, Star Wars Jedy Knight, Star Wars – Jedy Outcast, Serious Sam Second Encounter, Never Wnter Night. Per molti di essi è stato utilizzato il demo e non la versione finale, ma credo che non sia pregiudicato il corretto funzionamento della stessa nuova dll anche con i titoli finali.
Congiuntamente all’uscita dei driver è anche pubblicata unaGuida passo passo per l'installazione corretta dei driver al fine di prevenire qualsiasi problematica, installazione che deve avvenire NECESSARIAMENTE da pannello di controllo.
