I have a Diamond Monster 3D II 12MB, with FastVoodoo XP 4.0 Gold Edition, I want to know , since D3D isn't working (and I don't need it) on XP, would it will be good to UNDERclock the D3D and OVERclock only in Glide? so the chips would get less hot(there's no HS or fans on the chips)?

or it doesn't care at all?

what is the BEST clock speed for glide for a Voodoo2 without heatsink on chips?

is not possible to overclock teh card only in glide or only in direct3d.. the overclock is global! however i suggest you to not exceed the 97 mhz..
Powered by ALL Voodoo..

That is not true, you can!!!

in the register you can see it clearly.
And if they run to hot please put a fan against the side of the cards.
I am working myself on a heatsink fan combo made out of copper.
If it works I think I can overclock the voodoo towards the 120mhz easy. Because I have a 120mm fan to installed.
But if you don't want to do all this. just make a longer sli cable so that if you have to voodoo2's the don't heat up each other.
Start War and peace will be appreciated

he, he indeed this is possible directly in the registry since you find SSTV2_GRXCLK in D3D and in Glide or easier you use an utility like Voodoo2 Tweaker by C. Leinen... ;)

Perhaps if a card can't handle the speed in a Sli config but if it works underclocked, you can try to improve the cooling.
Overclocking will give probably an increase in FPS (but how ?) if your cpu is not a bottleneck.
