This is a beauty Sloomy!! wOOt!!!

how many 3dfx Voodoo5 5000 AGP as PCI model were ther actually?

are there any photo's of the other missing models:

1. 3dfx Voodoo4 4750  1x VSA-100 cores/mem 166/333MhzDDR
2. 3dfx Voodoo5 5750  2x VSA-100 cores/mem 166/333MhzDDR
3. 3dfx Voodoo5 5900  2x VSA-101 cores/mem 200/400MhzDDR
4. 3dfx Voodoo5 6500  4x VSA-101 cores/mem 200/400MhzDDR

well I've read a few nice things at Sudhian Media about these model types, but I suppose they only reached the drawing board.

LMFAO!!!
I believe he specifically mentioned on his website that those models were only "what if"s, i.e. if 3dfx didn't plumit; just a way to keep the VSA family alive, lol...

Uh, Only VSA-101 cores handled DDR memory. The VSA-100 core could only cope with SDRAM.

And as far as I know there are only three types of cards in the world which use the VSA-101 core. The V4 4200 PCI, V4 4200 AGP and the V4 4800. Both 4200 cards also had the 4750 tag if I'm not mistaken.

It is a shame the 3dfx isn't alive anymore....well Diamond Multimedia com'n back...now it's really been long enough!! 3dfx must come back....only if that were possible and I'm afraid it won't happen unless they are luckt like Diamond Multimedia is.....[:p]

well, theoretically, it is possible for 3dfx to return, but they woulod have a lot to catch up on. on the other hand, I'll bet they would have a large customer base right off the bat...

Wrong, it would be impossible for them to return...well not under 3dfx, and don't expect to be seeing SLI anytime soon...lol, that was part of the whole arrangement, nVidia bought all their core assests, i.e. the 3dfx name, as well as Voodoo, Rampage, etc...only a dream amp_man, only a dream...

nothing is impossible, the possibilities are maybe of only 0.1%, but it's not 0%! Some guys could have the idea to buy back 3dfx (rich people). Look, Diamond is comming back, why does other companies couldn't?

lecram25

Believe it or not, but I HIGLY DOUBT that nVidia, after 3 years, is gonna give all that stuff up for cheap, or even give it up at all. One thing you have to remember is that 3dfx and nVidia fought for a long time, court cases and all, why would nVidia just give that all up for someone to buy all the stuff back and start all that competition all over again; they've got ATi and XGI to deal with now...they bought out 3dfx because they new that if they didn't, once Rampage hit the scene, nothing, and I mean nothing at the time would compete...and then of course, there'd be Fear and Mojo only to follow; nVidia had to end it there. As much as I hate them, it was a smart move on their part...

Do you have an image of the back of the V5 5000 AGP?

Does anyone have a front and back image of a V4 4000?
