Hi everyone ang greetings from Belarus! Some days ago i make my dream come true and purchased Voodoo 3 2000 in addition to my retro AMD and Intel systems. I'm using two rigs fo testing:

1. GIGABYTE GA-7IXE4 + Duron 800/ Duron 1300/Athlon 900 (tried all cariants) + 256Mb 133 SDRAM +Turtle Beach Vortex + Samsung 80 GB IDE
CPU got Thermaltake tr2-m4 cooling, so the temperature is about 40C degree. Power supply - 250W Switching power supply (with toad on logo).

2. GIGABYTE GA-6VXC7-4X-P + Celeron 700/Pentium III 800 and the same devices in first config.

OS is Windows 98SE. I have tried DX from 6.1 to 8.1, and tried plenty of voodoo drivers (cleaning the previous versions) official and Amigamerlin 2.9, but the result is the same - massive framedrops (practically slideshow) in NFS: HP and NFS:HS, especially in scenes with lot of transparent smoke and dust and sprite trees. In scenes without smoke framerate is ok. Can it be hardware problem or software? Maybe you can help me to solve that problem*(.

Hi Metallian1988,

first of all, you're welcome.

Can it be hardware problem or software?

A way to know the right response is running other games with your 3dfx based systems and verify if you get again frame rate drops or not.

Please let us know.

Bye bye
