I'm guessing the only cards to be able to support Quake 4, even with patches are the Voodoo 5 series, but has anyone had any luck with this at all?

AMD Athlon 64 3000+

Western Digital 80 gig
ATI Radeon x800

Hey there,

I haven't had any luck yet myself getting my fairly capable rig equipped with a Voodoo5 PCI 5500 to do Quake 4. I haven't tried the latest Amigamerlin Drivers however, nor have I really taken a close look at the Sage OpenGL drivers (which are supposed to improve compatibility with newer OpenGL-based titles). So I'd start by making sure you have the absolutely newest drivers possible.

If it's any help, here's the system I've been trying to get it to run on (unsuccessful so far)

LEGACY SYSTEM:
-------------------------------------

Epox 8rda+ nForce2 Ultra motherboard
AMD AthlonXP 2600+ @ 2.3ghz (11.5x200)
1gb PC3200 DDR RAM (2.5-3-3-8-1T @ 200mhz)
3dfx Voodoo5 5500PCI (183mhz GPU/VRAM)
Hitachi 160gb 7,200 RPM
560W PSU
Windows Server 2003 R2

MAIN SYSTEM:
-------------------------------------

DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR
AMD Athlon64 3200+ @ 2.6ghz (10x260)
OCZ 1gb Platinum EL rev. 2 DDR RAM (2-4-3-6-1T @ 260mhz)
eVGA nVidia Geforce 7800GT (500mhz GPU/1.24ghz VRAM)
Antec NeoPower 480W PSU
WD 300gb 7,200rpm / Seagate 120gb 7,200rpm
Pioneer 16x DVD-R/R+
WindowsXP x86 / WindowsXP x64

LAPTOP:
