Thanks for reading and replying to my post.

I've had this problem since I first tried to get the Pure3D to work in the Athlon system (summer of 2000). The system had a 1.4 GHz ThunderBird cpu then but I've since upgraded it to the 1700+ ThoroughBred.

I might add that the FSB is set to 133 MHz.

I've got several glide games that I still want to use but they won't all work with the glide wrappers I've tried for the GeForce 3. Some do but not all.

Do you know of anyone who has a similar setup with the Pure3D working?

It is possible that the Gef3 and the Pure3D cards conflict in some way.
I've read something like that with a ATI9500/9700 and a generic voodoo1 card.

In this is the case, I think there are not many chances to make it work.

Have you tried the two cards on a different configuration (or with a different - maybe older - primary vga)?

i see (perhaps) 3 problems :
- the high fsb (133 mhz)
- as said Superbox, perhaps a problem with the Radeon (but not sure) even if i heard taht with the Voodoo2's
- the problem that we can see with the V2 (but this is not really a problem because we have hacked drivers) : the compatibility with the Athlon

the Pure3D is a V1 or a V2 ?

I think it's the 133MHz FSB that's the problem.
If you motherboard doesn't have a AGP/PCI locking feature you can easily have this problem. Drop the FSB back to normal and see if the problem persists.

-edit for correction
Disreguard the above post because I was incorrect about the FSB speed.
I was thinking your CPU was OC'd but it's not.
Sorry!!!

the problem is that 133 mhz is the normal fsb for a Athlon 1700+

Correction, it was the summer of 2001 when I first got my 1.4 GHz T-Bird.

Also, the Pure3D I have is built from the Voodoo 1 chip.

So is the FSB the problem?
As far as a AGP/PCI locking feature, the BIOS doesn't offer any such option that I've seen.
The lowest I can set the FSB to is 90 MHz.

Is it that the card can't handle the speed of the FSB?
Is there any software available to make the Voodoo 1 card "think" the FSB is slower than it actually is?

Again thanks for taking the time to read and respond.

i would try to slow the fsb in order "to see" if the problem is always here
