Hello all,

I am having difficulties with my Voodoo5 and DirectX 9. After installing Angel of Darkness, I believe my Voodoo5 driver is not compatible with DirectX 9 (a prerequisite for this game). I have tried both Voodoolizer_1.05.00_WinXP_2K and Voodoolizer_1.05.00_Win9x_Me, but the game is still unplayable.

Can anyone please help with a Voodoo5 driver for Win_Me that is compatible with DirectX 9. Thanks.

Set 32 bits for desktop!
You must open the 3dfx Tools and go to Advanced Features/Direct 3D/Rendering Color-Depth and set "Force 32bbp Renderig" and apply. After open the Start Menu/Execute and type: "DXDIAG".
Now set 32 bits on desktop, and run all display tests from Direct 3D (software and hardware), if OK all tests just back to 3dfx Tools and returns the Rendering Color-Depth to "Software Controlled"!

Try run the game, if not starts, you must use 3D Analizer...

AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 1.53GHz 512MB DDR
Voodoo 5 5500 AGP BIOS 1.18
Windows ME - Amigamerlin 2.9
Windows XP Pro - Amigamerlim 2.5SE (no more) / Voodoolizer 1.05

Would this apply as well for OpenGL/Glide> Glide 32bpp Rendering> Force 32bpp Rendering?

you can try perhaps an other driver

anyway, no Voodoo Driver is really compatible with DirX9 (supports all DirX9 features)

Will I have Voodoo 5 5500 PCI/Amigamerlin 25SE and have DirectX9b installed and followed the above mentioned. I ran DXDIAG no problem. Now for the big test. I started up Delta Force Black Hawk Down which I previously had major background color distortion, the beginning movie intro was choppy and sound was crap, and the menu fluttered. WOW ! The game ran beautifully. The movie ran with no problem and the menu didn't flutter as before. Colors are awesome and frame rates aren't bad considering I'm running a P-3 600 with 320SDRAM.. Thanks.
