I'm building a small more mobile 3dfx system.
and if I can get my voodoo5500 to fit in the case I'm going to use it.

I'd like to get better heat sinks on the card.
noting to costly or big, but better then the stock cooling.
any ideas?

edit
the heat sinks need to be small so I can put a card in the next slot

hmm not sure how you will get them any smaller than the stock heatsink..

my suggestion would be to look into chipset heatsinks as they are probably about the right size and i know you can get plenty of nice passive heatsinks for chipsets (Thermaltake HR05 comes to mind)

something like this http://www.xoxide.com/xigmaetk-portercn881-chipsetcooler.html you could even bend the heatpipes to be parallel and then position it in any direction you want and stay pretty cool..

this is the HR05 SLI edition which would serve teh same purpose too

also keep in mind that the 5500 will stay cool enough even with a card next to it.. my 3dfx PC has that setup.. what i did is installed the mounting screw that holds the card in and then pushed the cards apart as far as i could then tighted the screws.. that gives you that little bit of clearance you need.. technically the v5 5500 is a single slot card though and i didn't notice any real temperature problems with it..

as usual though, make sure you have adequate airflow in the case.. that more than any effects heat.
