Yes I would be interested in a test of a V5500 PCI over a single bridge. If we could compare results with another driver. Use set3tile.exe if running default 3dmark2001.

Jix-reggio: did you try to mask pin49b on your adapter ? Same result as mine ? ( you have the same adapter as i. Right ?) I am not at home these days to continue with the tests...
Thanks to everybody for your great support ! |

@sfft : the 1.6 don't install correctly on win XP32 on my machine. Don't know why, maybe I would have cleaned all the previousdrivers and the win register (regedit) but I had not the time .
Description of the problem : I installed after using Amiga 3 R11 and without cleaning the windows register. After setup boot, new drivers selected and reboot, the screen is blocked on 4 bits or 8 bits resolution. I remember it is for this reason that, on XP, I continued with Amiga 3.R11.
For Sffttools, maybe in february I made observations in the dedicated topic problems with the tools.
The 1.6 version was (in my mind) for Windows 7 32 bits, and it works great on this OS.
@M14radu : no sorry, I had not the time to try the tape on pin 49b |

Sfft 1.6 definitely works on win XP 32. Run setup.exe and then use control panel to install the driver.

@jix-reggio, Yes, I will. Sorry for delay, but I am busy!
@SFFT, I can't test it yet because I need to find a V5 PCI. Odd, but I only have agp vers and only one pci model but it does not work well.
Anyway, I will test with set3tile.exe. I need to restart the PC each time I set "set3tile.exe"?

@jix-reggio: please check if your adapter work with this mod :) There must be a way to force the PLX to work @66mhz. Did you try to edit the register with wpcredit ?

I want to connect supermicro CSE-RR2UE-AX card on any motherboard ( with pci express 16x ).

Only on supermicro motherboard there is Supermicro Enhance Power Connector next to Pci express slot.
I want to find a solution any motherboard with pci express slot 8x or 16x.
How can i do ?
I have already PCI express 8x extender cable.
I need SEPC Cable ( Supermicro Enhance Power Connector ).
Where can i find it ? if anyone help me ?
(This adaptor allow to connect all voodoo 5 Pci or Agp card on any MB at 66 Mhz.)
thanks in advance

As I thought, the tape on pin 49b didn't work. @oschkar : can you post the pci dump of your pericom bridge and V5500 if it is running fine.
Any power user to explain why an insolator tape on pin 49b supporting M66EN motherboard signal at the init would help to run @66 mhz ? Or to explain how to proceed with pericom or plx bridge ? Thanks to share good ideas ...

That is not good I wait also for the pci dump from osckhar voodoo5 and bridge. After that we can see what must be change.
I hope that we don't need to buy another adapter to have our voodoo5 running @66MHz
@jix-reggio: i use the utility "RW-Everything" for changing the registers. Look here: http://jacky5488.myweb.hinet.net/
This tool must do the job now too
Here: http://www.voodooalert.de/board/index.php?page=Thread&postID=314132#post314132
this video card GT430 PCI from Zotac uses the same PLX bridge.

Maybe the register status from this card can help us :) if this card runs @66MHz then we can use the same register configuration.
Would be also interesting to know the status of the pin49b on this card, and were this goes :) |

I try to change the register of the PLX chipset with the "RW-Everything" application.
Is ( 33MHz) : hx value of 0010 -> 0000 0000 0001 0000 Must ( 66Mhz ): hx value of 0030 -> 0000 0000 0011 0000
After changing the register, the value change itself automaticaly back in 1-2 seconds.

Well, this behaviour tells me that the register must be changed via hardware mod, and not with a simple software.
This is my PCI dump:

There is no way to get hands on the plx's datasheet?
I seeked it for a lot but without success |

mee too, but without luck. I think that the only way is to subscribe to PLX, and then we can get the datasheets and the SDK too.
