Hello to everyone !!!
Just today I have received new dll's from the mythical Koolsmoky !!. Really good news for the owner of Voodoo5 6k. Now FSAA 2x Works and the bug related to the overbrightness is now nailed, another little miracle.
All the file still in beta but shortly they can be released for you all.
About the new d3d section seem that the bug related to the strange stripes prsent on your desk when exit from UT2003 is on the right way to be resolved.

PS: naturally this files are good for 4500-5500-6000. The compatibility with 3000 is not tested and may be broken , sorry for this.

PPS: A REALLY BIG THANKS MUST GO TO KOOLSMOKY !!!

Keep the faith .

Bye

its great to hear this
There are very much "inf mixer" in the 3dfx community but not so much real programmers like kool or colourless.
Special thx to kool for your work....(I didn't tested it but I think it will go forward after a long time)

Don't wanna sound mean or anything, but Voodoo 3 support is kinda useless. For one, the lack of 32-bit color, as well as the support of hig res textures. say, if you want to play glide games, put your voodoo 3 up on ebay, and buy yourself a voodoo 5.

Thanks for keeping the Voodoo alive. The only issue I've ever had was banding when exiting UT2003, and I understand the new drivers will fix that. :)

Voodoo 3 support isn't useless, I have a v3 3500! If the driver can emulate some inexistent features and add others, or recompile it to support SSE that would be good in my opinion.
Maybe someone can make the tv feature works in pal-m, which is my only problem with the card.

HEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\3dfx interactive\visualreality

try to change the videostandard from 1 to 4 (i think this is the Pal-M)

Now, this kind of posts really annoy me FYI, I have a PowerColor EvilKing3 Voodoo3 3000 PCI. I also have a V4 and a V5. The V3 is still the king, in my opinion. From the chip point of view, it's inferior, I'll admit. From the card point of view, is better than V4/5. It has been proved stable with crazy timings that give shimmering on V4/5 . Even I could cook an egg on it running, it never failed to display a triangle so far.

seems that LogicalMadness is planning a driver for XP Home/Pro but it's not available yet

for the moment, the only drivers for the V5 6K that i know are for Win9x/Me or Win2k

So if your Voodoo3 is so damn powerfull and great, why aren't people giving two ****s about a driver update?

So you want to emulate features that are non existent on the Voodoo 3? Tell me, how do you emulate 32-bit color? ROFL So let's say that you're able to emulate some features that bring it up to VSA-100 par, so what then. You'd then have to "double emulate" because the VSA family of chips is struggling alot in newer games. Face it, voodoo 3 support is useless for newer games.

How are the beta testing of the NEW Amigamerling going on?
I think that the VSA-100 chip will never be in the best form, because of the drivers, and thus
is a long hard road out of hell for the Voodoo users.
I managed to put my hands on the 3dfx driver souce code, and saw there some desperate tricks
that the 3dfx driver developers try to do to finish the NT support before the 3dfx gone in the shadow.
I must say that the support for Windows NT(no matter what NT) is critical.
