This bios allows you to overclock in the bios as well as clange the latency settings on the fly at bootup, no buggy overclocker utility that only overclocks one chip. Found this at http://www.voodooland.org/downloads/bios/rdfx.htm and am officially ripping it off. I just dont believe i didnt see it here first. Also does anyone have any information on the rdfx project. Works great i got my voodoo 5500 agp to 183mhz no problems and lowered the latency aswell! You can find the bios flash utility on this site, but u need to boot into dos using a floppy disk, maby tomorrow ill make a bootable dos cdrom image with the bios on it if anyone needs it.

Just tested today, excelent, Same Results lowering latencys (alreay got mi V5 @ 211 MHz).
You can easily kill everybody in most FPS, but what differences Doom from them is that sometimes you have to kill everybody with a boxer...

Hi,

I already use this bios but it's from rainbow !
unfortunately i was not able to bring the card over 201 MHz.
starting with this frecvecy texture errors apears.
At 200Mhz the card runs great, of course with another coolers :D
Can u please post here your settings that alows u to reach 212Mhz ?
Follow your dreams !

Look, I just bought some heatsinks made of copper wich measurements are 4 times bigger than the ones the card has. That keeps temperatures @ 40ºC Idle and 55ºC Full Charge.

In overclocking there's no magical setup that allows everyone to get the same results. It dependes a lot on your especific VSA. I'll explain this:

When 3dfx built on their VSAs chips they were all constructed and tested the same way a CPU is built. And of course there are chips that can run faster than others. In order to make a standard for the market they've put all V5 cards @ 166 MHz. But there are chips that can reach even more speed. Sometimes one of the two is best than the other (it's a 2 GPU card) and it limitates the preformance of the other. Thats the reason I could get 211 MHz, and of course a great refrigeration.

I put my tRC @ 8 times and tRAS @ 5 times.

Lowering other latencys made the card unstable.

But,it is a fact that increasing 1 or 2 times your latencys instead of lewering them, you may get a few MHz more. Try it!

Does any one know the default timings of this bios? I have tried to use manual timings, but I always get crashed screen[}:)].

So if someone could give me advice, I would appreciate that much!
