Hi,

I'd like to know what is the dll-file that should be replaced with mesaFX OpenGL-file. The game is running very slow right now. For example Quake II and Kingpin have 3dfxgl.dll file which I replaced. Those games did also run very slow before.

Thanks for your help!:)

in quake3 (well in my quake3 folder) there isnt a dll to replace. just make sure the mesafx dll is named opengl32.dll. if quake3 still doesnt use it, try 3dfxgl.dll or 3dfxvgl.dll.

opengl32.dll will work fine.note that if you have voodoo3 or older, wickedgl will probably work better.mesafx seems to have some brightness problems..

I have Voodoo5.. But still the game doesn't run good. My machine is AMD 1,2 Ghz 512 RAM. So power should be no bottle neck.

try doing timedemos with all three opengl "icds." see which one gets the best performance.

what OS (windows) and drivers do you have? something isnt right,I can run quake3 on my athlon1400/voodoo5 machine with max details 2x FSAA all day (and 200 MHz is not really big difference)..

I have WinXP and those new mesaFX drivers which came with Amigamerlin 3.1.

Btw. I must always use default openGL in every game. For some reason voodoo openGL is not working... Should it?

voodoo mode in quake3 will work on the v3,4,5... u just have to edit the config file

Use WickedGL. Its much faster...
