Please, could you make new Banshee drivers. The latest release was Feb 2000 (1.04.00 for Win9x) :(

You could implement autodetection of TMUs number (1 for Banshee, 2 for Voodoo3) in a new driver based upon released source code.

I wanna mention that I did try my best to make V3 drivers work on Banshee and it did work ! (I did replace HEX 1A120500 with HEX 1A120300) But under D3D API always 2 TMUs are used and Banshee has got only 1 TMU. Many more games work with patched 1.05.00, 1.06.00, 1.07.00 Win9x drivers for V3. Banshee deserves it !

do you know that third party drivers exist since 2000-2001 ? the more known are BansheeDrivers, the last are X-Mojomotion and the promising Raziel64 ?
but indeed, none of them is built on the source code

Well, with *NEW* drivers I mean *NEW* 3dfx16vb.drv, 3dfx32vb.dll, 3dfxvb.vxd files. 3rd party drivers for Win9x/ME are based on 4.12.1222 core with new Glide/OpenGL files. 3rd party drivers for Win2k/XP are based on 1.02.01-beta or 1.02.02-beta core with new Glide/OpenGL files.
OK, some setup settings were changed, but if I change some settings in my BIOS SETUP (let's say RAM timings from FAST to TURBO), do I have got a new BIOS version ? Of course, NO ! It is the same BIOS with other - better - settings.
Let the dream come true ! Make *NEW* Voodoo Banshee drivers ! Please !

of course, you're right

but all these drivers "third party" have a merit : they exist and needeed probably many work from their author

and without these drivers, no Banshee would run under XP

perhaps we can hope a true new driver which will help with the problem of the textures...

I agree with you. I think that without 3rd party drivers, 3dfx would be no more nowadays. But it would be great to see someone compile the drivers 4.12.01.0675 for Win9x from the released source code. Wait and see.
