Hey all. I am new to the forums. I had the Voodoo2 with P 233MMX some years ago. My fiancee bought Celeron 1200 system with 128 MB and integrated Intel graphics ( some 4MB)3 years ago. She doesnt play so its not her problem. I can't run openGL games on it. Voodoo3 wont work as comp. goes crazy and restarts as I cant dissable the integrated graph. Looks like Voodoo2 is again here to play. I will be having Voodoo2 soon as I know it may work with integrated graph. If it does work, will it support the OpenGL properly? (interested in running "UFO Alien Invasion" when it come out). How to solve Voodoo2 comptibility with games that dont support Voodoo2?. Is it possible to run T&L games on Voodoo 2? I have win XP SP2 probably with dx9. What should I do to run Voodoo2 under XP without problems? Thx

can you post exact configuration of system? (mb model)
To run v2 on winxp install fastvoodoo2 drivers, and you should be able to run openGL games.
also there are LegendgrafiX VooDooMage 2 drivers (http://www.3dfxzone.it/enboard/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1514) worth checking out ;)

There is no solution, each game has (maybe) a different manner to go..
for example, warcraft III runs only using mesaFx (i think)
Powered by ALL Voodoo..

ps47

generally, glide and opengl games should run fine (unless you want to run really new opengl game that requires texture compression or pixel shaders),it may need some tinkering and/or file switching (icd/minigl/wickedgl/mesafx).D3D is possible too,but only with the LegendgrafiX driver (link is above)..

all old games should run on voodoo2..

about that problem with voodoo3 - did you checked BIOS ? in "PCI / Plug and Play" you must change "Primary Graphics Adapter" from "OnBoard VGA (default)" to "Add-on VGA". Also "Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA" must be enabled and "PCI VGA Palette Snoop" should be disabled.

There are only 2 options related to graph. I could dissable on-board VGA and palette snoop.

It is not my comp. I am affraid a little to change bios. I am not that familiar with it. Voodoo3 is cool but Voodoo2 should suit my needs. This Compaq has only 128 MB Infineon ram thats the biggest problem after all. XP consumes it well lol. I tried add 256 no name Ram in it but the outcome was similar to that with V3. With only 256  no name Ram it works not like it should.  I am looking forward to play "UFO Alien Invasion" which is Quake 2 engine based game in development by UFO series fans. Maybe some other games. Maybe I'll see the beauty of Unreal again as this game uses only Voodoo accelerators.
