Hello I just found your page about a week ago and decided to try and get my Voodoo2 card to work in windowsxp. I have tried everything I can thing of and read on your page.

First of all I have tried the Fastvoodoo2 3.5 drivers and they work, but the problem with them is I have no setup tab in the system properties so I can't tweak it from there. With the fastvoodoo2 4.0 xp gold the drivers wont start Quake at all, But I have a tab for it listed under system properties.

The error I get with FV2 4.0 XP tells me the color depth of my screen is incorrect, make sure screen color is 65555. I have a NVidia TNT 32 megs agp as the primary display and it is set at 800x600x16 for the desktop.

I have used the method of removing old drivers as stated in the program Driver cleaner down to the last line and installed the new drivers over and over again. I also downloaded and tried the patch for Fastvoodoo2 4.0 for XP.

The system is:
AMD Athlon XP 1800+ CPU
ESC Motherboard K7S5A Ver. 3.1 with BIOS upto date
Nvidia TNT 32mb ELIXER AGP Primary display
WD 40 GB HD
256 MB PC 133 RAM
3dfx VooDOo2 12MB
If anyone can point me in the right direction or if you can help me it would be greatly appreciated. This site Rocks! I can't believe all the work that has been going on with the VooDOo2 drivers Good Work here!!!


One other question I had that could be the source of my ailment is, when you install a fresh copy of Quake, what mini port would I use? I have even tried the mesa drv and it works but some of the models are completly white, weapons have no skins.

I got it to work with the FastVD2 3.0 driver, I dont know why the newer drivers dont work! I'm happy it works and I get about 110.9 FPS on timedemo demo1 with one VD2 card so I cant complain. And that I didnt even OC the card I cant complain! Thanks for the excellent driver!
