60 Hz and other things

So my Obsidian finally works, thanks to the great work of Koolsmoky. Yet some questions remain.

1. The refresh rate in Glide is stuck at 60 Hz, changing it in the V2 control panel is impossible. Is there a third party tool, that might allow changing the V2 refresh rate under Windows 2000 ? I was thinking Vcontrol, but that doesn't even recognize my Obsidian, just says unsupported 3dfx device.

2. The V2 control panel in general. Doesn't see my SLI config, so doesn't offer configuration options for 1024x768. SLI works fine however, games run at 1024x768.

Hi Avenger,

in FastVoodoo2 4.0 XP package you can see the Refresh_rate folder under "your unzipped FV2 path"\FastVoodoo2_4.0_XP_Gold_Edition\Tools\: well. it includes the  reg file to set refresh frequency at several monitor resolutions. See FV2 4.0 XP release notes - https://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/3dfx/voodoo2/releasenotes/fv2_4.0_xp_ge.htm - for more info on it.

This is a known bug, reported in many forum topics: so don't warry because it's a visual error only.

(ciao dborca :))

Bye bye

see the readme that comes with the updated v2 glides, and youll see why is the refresh stuck at 60 (reg tweaks wont help, even the fastvoodoo ones).just create a *.bat file and put in this:

set SSTV2_REFRESH_1024x768=75
yourgame.exe

save, and launch the game via the *.bat ;)

Thanks :)
I'll try 100, since that is what I usually use.

Edit: Does not work. Not the registry files, not the variable set. Not at 100, 85 or 75. I'm stuck at 60. Maybe the new files don't support it.

works for me with voodoo2 SLI (xp,fastvoodoo2 4.0xp,the new glide2x in system32 folder, running deusex with a bat file at 85),dunno whats wrong..maybe the obsidian works a bit defferent (that var is for a standard v2)..
