Hi, i already asked in two other forums... it has to be a voodoo 2 with only one TMU.... one guy said, that its a rare budged voodoo 2 for asia?
and some other said that it could be a prototype, because of the yellow connectors and pins on the board...

Are there any numbers on the back?
Is there a company ID on the card?
What numbers are on the 3rd chip on the card?

yes indeed! seems a single-TMU Voodoo2.

you see, the lower chip is labeled CK which stands for Chuck - the FB chip. the upper chip is labeled BE which stands for Bruce - the TM chip.

these notations are specific to Voodoo2... funny thing, there was a movie where Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris fight in the end.

than it looks like a prototype... cause the 500-0012-31 and 500-0011-01 is not listed on the page, you've given the link above...

edit: aah when i compare the numbers, my card is between a voodoo 2 and a banshee... (V2 has -0009- and -0010- and a banshee has -0013-

Voodoo 500? What kind of chipset is that?

NitroX infinity

http://www.idhw.com/textual/chip/3dfx/chipname.html

Voodoo 500 is the Avenger chip on the Velocity's and Voodoo 3's.

TM30

erm... yeah but that doesnt help me [}:)]

does anyone has contact with ex 3dfx stuff? its clearly impossible that there are no documents, no webpages or something else of my card..

or i own a prototype which only one was built [8D]

TM30

anyone another idea? or some contacts to ex 3dfx staff?

perer

You own a prototype look at the date of the chip.
Even creative and Diamond didn't had chips at that date.
Start War and peace will be appreciated

but when its a prototype why this card has the "CE" approval...

but on the other hand... week 6 in 1998 is very early for a voodoo 2...

edit: look at http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/prototypes.htm and scroll down... first retail boards shipped on February 20th 1998... (=week 7)

obobskivich

uh...could it be a Voodoo1?
i saw a pic of one of em, the chips are stacked like that, and most Voodoo2's have 3 3dfx tagged chips
my guess is a Voodoo1, but it might be a concept Voodoo2
