really? Ruling the world? What kinda scores are you getting in 3D Mark 2003? Oh wait, I'll bet you can't even run it! Maybe one test. So, just to be a little closer to fair, what about '01SE?? I don't even know the rest of your system specs, and I'll still bet my 9500/XP1800+ can still beat the sh!t out of that poor thing, and still look ten times better with 6x AA (sorry, no 8x), and 16x AF, which your poor V5 never even heard of, not to mention that I've got pure hardware TnL, compared to you're f*cking around with 3D-Analyze. Sorry Elvis, I love my v5 5500, but you can't possibly hold a 6k against a modern ATI or Nvidia card.

Hmm, I highly doubt you rule Elvis.
Rolo01 is more likely to rule with his rare cards.
Otherwise Obi Wan Kenobi does with his huge collection.

VSA100 FSAA is still unmatched out there...you should know that...and don't compare a 3-4 year old card to something relatively new...

did you ever take history? No empire has ever ruled  the world with 3-4 year old technology, and neither will Elvis. He himself states "you be conned into a geforce or ati piece of s h i t", which seems to imply to me pretty hardcore that he's comparing it to new video cards. Yes, that card is way ahead of it's time, yes, it is an absolutely amazing collectors item, but faced against modern cards, even low end ones like I've got, the V5 6k is no match.

You also state that VSA100 FSAA is unmatched. That may be, in 3-4 year old games! But face that bad boy against, hmm, lets chose a game I kinda like, Need For Speed Underground. Yes it will run. I'm going to guess something like minimum detail level in 800x600 mode, and so far it can only be done under Win9x. Then grab your FSAA, and it looks...okay. Meanwhile, I'll take my 9500, not even bother softmodding it, just maybe OC it a little, turn on 4x AA and 8x AF, and run it at 1024x768 and max detail quality (this is how I've been playing it, with the 9500@300core/330mem). Maybe the FSAA does a lot more on the 6k, but I can push the settings up to the point where the FSAA isn't needed, and still get playable speed. I admit, I would kill for a V5 6k, but what was once its kingdom has moved on to better things.

I also agree that Rolo1 has got a much better collection, if 3dfx ruled the world, he would be a much better candidate for king;)

DUDE! I'm not talking about IQ, I'm talking about FSAA...
1) R3xx uses MSAA, does no justice to alpha textures and shaders...
2) Then you say you can push the settings up where AA isn't needed...are you thick? AA will always be needed until we start playing games at like 2048x1536. Even at 1600x1200, AA is needed; upping the resolution is never a substitute for AA, get that thing stuck in your head.

HAHAHAHAAHAH how bout you guys run something like PSX emulator with AA in the radeon. Or for that matter older glide based games oh wait a minute NO MSAA IN 16bit huh!!!.
And yes some of us do play older games. Try playing flightsimulator with MSAA the texture crawling alone will claw your eyes out.

Hell try running unreal tournament the first one in MSAA and compare to voodoo fsaa in Opengl. Thanks to mesa it runs around 190-200 fps on my 6k no AA . with 4Xaa it is about 70-80 FPS easy. You would be blown away.

I could list games for ever and ever. Max payne 1, serious sam 1 and 2, Diablo, warcraft. Geez people.

Hey guys,
thanks for the compliments, I almost blushed :D[:I]
Every now and then Elvis comes up with a post like this...
Believe me, I love my 6000 but see no need to brag with it...
I know lots of people who think I am crazy to spend my money for outdated technology, but who cares...
In my opinion it makes no sense to compare a 6000 to a modern card, so I dont even try. At the end of 2000 the 6000 was king of the hill, thats for sure.

lol@Rolo1, 'tis the meek who will rule the world :D

Yes, the Voodoo cards were the KINGS of old games, like Playstation games (Playstation came out in like 1999 didn't it?) and unreal tournament, which looks 10x better on my V5 in the system in my sig then it does on my 9500. But it simply can't compete when faced with new games, or even newer benchmarks. Yes AA is required even at high details/resolutions, but it makes less of a difference, and therefore 8x isn't required...anyways, gotta run, will continue this later...

@ Elvis: --> There are no rulers in the world because the world we live in is one big mess, and YOU are definitly not the Ruler at all, that's the most low-life thing I've ever heard, I'd say that your speculation " I am The Ruler Of The World" is normally said by 12year olds.[}:)]

@ Phalanx Thanks for your compliments too ;)

You certainly feel like ruling the world when your 6K arrives ;)

The comment, some things never change, was aimed at Elvis...

I also loved my Voodoo5 but unfortunately, it's time has come to an end. I have my Voodoo5 in a PIII 933 system and it will stay there for playing my older Glide games. The IQ of the Voodoo5 was the best but it won't perform with new games.

Damn the 3Dfx management and nVidia for destroying the best video card company ever!

hehe.. nice try. I get 70-80fps easy at 1600x1200x32 Opengl high res textures 6x FSAA 16x AA with my 9700pro and yes it does look better.

I loved my V5 at the time, but I could never go back. ('cept I'm forced to temp. as my Radeon is in for repairs). One thing is for sure, you can't beat 3dfx build quality.
