My son has an old game he wanted installed on his computer.  It was made for 3dfx cards.  I tried an old Diamond Monster 3D II card with the original drivers.  Wouldn't work. Tried un-installing drivers. Every time I tried, computer would freeze. Re-boot, try un-installing, computer freeze.  Finally removed card physically, started up computer and found that the drivers were gone.  However, every time I try to go into display properties I get an error message that says " Cannot find Diamond Monster 3D II card, contact Diamond tech support"  I have gone thru the registry and removed everything that said Diamond Monster, went thru all the files with "search" and removed some more files, but this message keeps comming back.  Does anyone have any idea where this could be hiding?? I'm at a loss.

What OS are you using? Also, try Driver Cleaner to clean out the rest of the unwanted files, most are named Glide*, 3dfx*, or perhaps even Voodoo* (*=possibly something more after it)

P.S.  Drive Cleaner says only works on ATI and Nvidia drivers.  Main card is a Hercules Prophe G2 Mx400 with Nvidia Detonator drivers.  I don't think I need drive cleaner to remove these drivers.

Did you remove also all mention of "diamond" (*diam*) or "monster" (*mnstr*) ? and don't forgot the INF folder in C:\Windows

Been there.  Done that.  And anything that said "3dfx" or "voodoo".
