Yes, it is made by Quantum3D and is a SLI combination of 2 Voodoo1 in one big card.
This reached the performance of a Voodoo2 even before the V2 was out...

q3d did some incredible thing here...

Hi all.

I resume this post for an help request.

I have an obsidian SB100, but I have no pass-through cable to check if it works.

Image Insert:

Image Insert:

11.64 KB

The problem is that the pass-through cable (mind that this is a v1) is not the same used for generic V1 boards: rather than having two vga connectors (21 pins, one for the input and one for the output), it has just 1 vga connector (output to the monitor).
The input should be connected with a 9 pins round connector (to the right of the vga one, in the above pic).

Now... the question: anyone of you has the same card AND the cable?

I would like to know the pin-to-pin schema to build out one of my own...

is it's just me, or is this card bigger than the mighty voodoo 5 6000?

Nightbird

About the same size, i think.

can you tell me what is Q3D Obsidian,,,who has pictures???

:)

I used a few Quantum3D Images here :
http://www.falconfly.de/identify-3dfx.htm

Another good Link :
http://www.thedodgegarage.com/3dfx/

Basically, those were 3dfx Chips built onto special Hardware developed by the Quantum3D Corporation.
It allowed (for example) to have Voodoo1 SLI (!) on a single Card, they've built Voodoo2 SLI on a single Card, made a Voodoo2 AGP or the mighty Mercury (massive SLI).
The Quantum AAlchemy (VSA-100 based) was the most massive SLI System ever built with 3dfx Hardware.

Basically very exclusive (and expensive ;) ) Designs, that in their respective times were undispited performance Kings of all 3dfx Cards.
Due to their pricing, not many were ever built or sold, thus they are very rare pieces of Hardware, and make for excellent Collector's Items.

Piece of cake-

1) Install card (no cable required)

2) Boot computer, install quantum3d drivers, reboot.

3) Plug cord into RCA jack on back of card, run to TV or Cam-coder.

4) Go to Q3d properties tab, click on enable TV-out, choose PAL or NTSC.

5) Launch Glide application or panel test applet, enjoy 3d on the big screen.
