Important Notice: We cannot guarantee that SACRED will run on all Laptop and Notebooks. Since there are so many different types of systems on the market, it is impossible to test all of them. The graphics chips are also not the same as a desktop computer. If your Laptop/Notebook has the minimum requirements, we still cannot guarantee that SACRED will run and can therefore offer no guaranteed Technical Support.

Hello,

I am able to run Sacred with my V5 5500, but if I am trying to zoom in/out the game /with the mouse wheel/ the game crashes rarely. Also, it crashes sometimes without any clear reason. I am using NU Driver 5 (DX 8 beta compatible), Windows ME, I tried also Rampage drivers (the latest from www.voodoofiles.com), but they sux, also I tried x-3dfx 1.07 drivers. NU Driver is the best, the game runs fast and smoothly, but it's not very playable, because of the crashes.
I sent an e-mail to the Sacred team, without an answer.
If someone have better luck, please post the experience here :)

Have you tried to patch Sacred to the newest version ?
I think it is 1.6, I hope they fixed the random crashes...

SEG_Striker

I have 1.5 only. But the problem is video card related - with GeForce FX 5200 the game runs without crashes.
I downloaded 1.6, but it still don't have no-cd patch :)

bky2k

i've tried with the latest patch and it's not working
i will try the 3dfx drivers that SEG_Striker indicate

SEG_Striker

Well, I found NuDriver in www.voodoofiles.com, also in falconly.de, but I am sure it is working only with V4/V5.
You can try the newest driver - rampage for V3 /also in voodoofiles.com/, I started once Sacred with it.

Nightbird

What NuDrivers did you try exactly ?
Some Voodoo3 drivers can own the same core.
But with a Voodoo3, don't forgot the limitations of the hardware, the first problem will be perhaps here...

NuDriver 5 (9x/ME), NuDriver 7 - XP
If you know any NuDriver, working with V3 - tell me.
I installed it with V3, but after restart, Windows roll back to the previous driver /the file names are different for V3 and V4/5 - voodoo series/. But you should know already this.
About 4-5 months ago, I asked about software HT&L /or better Geometry Assist with DX8/9 support/. Right now, I assume 3Dfx are dead and their great videocard too, because no one in the world can write truly good driver... Amazing! I just can't believe this, but why nobody is working? Someone pay for not doing it??
I know it's possible and not so hard. Perhaps some of the 3Dfx engineers can do it, but they just don't want to work for the people?

Nightbird
