Congratulations, you have stumbled across an OEM version of the V4 4500. If memory serves me correctly, these cards were slower than retail 4500s, I think that it was either because of their odd design or they might have actually been clocked at 143MHz or something. I believe these cards were manufactured by 3dfx themselves, unless the OEMs made them.

It's not 143MHz, normal 166 here

Okay then, the slowdown is due to the odd design of the card. I know I heard one or the other, just couldn't remember which was which.

Ok, maybe but i can't compare with retail V4 because i don't have it, only V5 6000 and Quantum3D Mercury (both waaaaay faster than any V4 :) )

oh well, you still have a Voodoo 4 ;). But remind me, Quantum3D Mercury, which one is that?

That's the Voodoo 4 L-card, aka loser card, mainly because of it's shape (L-shaped) and I think the performance was a little slower than usual...the Powercolor Voodoo 4 4500 AGP is like any other card today; that meaning it has the standard VGA output as well as tv-out/s-video and DVI output, plus the AGP 4x slot...

Wauw !! Not everybody has that baby dude !

Where have you found the card  [:P]

Are you working with Quantum3D ? ;)

Holy SH!T! Yeah, that would definately outperfrom a Voodoo 4, probably a Voodoo 5 (5500) also. But you must be stuck using the Quantum3D drivers? Or do the FastVoodoo drivers support this card?

Not 4*X24 but 4*SB200I (the professional version)
The X24 is the consumer card.

And this card doesn't outperform a Voodoo5.
The Quantum3D Mercury could only run resolutions up to 1024x1024, has a Ramdac 135 mhz and only had drivers for Windows NT...
But it enabled anti-aliasing in hardware before other graphics cards came with the capability.

Of course not (and i don't have 8464 :) ) I bought it for $120. Mercury is quite rare thing but it's possible to find it (unlike Rampage prototype or V4 4200 DDR ) and it's not so expensive like V5 6000 (of course some limitations here - no big textures, no 32 bit)

Very good thing for Unreal :)
