ok.. i am using windows XP and the drivers are the ones provided by the system...

I have played other games which require more than 32MB of video card.

That may be all fine and dandy, however, it will NOT work with a 16mb video card, nor will it work in Windows XP, even with a voodoo5, let alone a v3.....[:(!]

Everyone's right, that game won't play on your 16Mb Voodoo3... The Voodoo5 has trouble too because games read it as a 32Mb since the Voodoo5 assigns 32Mb for each GPU.

Sorry

I think there might also be issues with 32 bit color, sorry.

Sun Yatsen,
That's a great idea. You will have a fast system for the new games that are out and a fast Gilde system for all the Glide games we still love. My sig below shows my main system but I have a Glide system too.

This is my Glide System:
Asus P3B-F Intel 440BX chipset
Intel PIII 650
128 Mb PC100 Corsair SDRAM
15 Gb Western Digital 7200 RPM HD
15 Gb Maxtor DiamondMax 7200 RPM HD
Mitsumi 48X CD-ROM
Windows 98se
Diamond Viper 770 Ultra 32Mb AGP
Diamond Monster 3D II 24Mb SLI
SB AWE 64 Gold
US Robotics 56K V.90 Fax/Modem w/voice
KTI KF-230TX 10/100 NIC

(I might switch out the 3 current video cards for a Voodoo3 3000 soon)

n so why in the readme.txt there is a solution for a problem using a V2?
K7 800
Asus A7V
512Mb PC133
Voodoo 3 2000 AGP @ Amigasport 3.0

Why would there be a solution for using a v2 when it won't even work on a v3, let alone have support for any 3dfx cards[?]
Are you sure your reading the correct readme.txt?? [:0]

well, I've seen my voodoo 3 running games that other video cars can't.
a friend of mine has Sis 64Mb video card and it does not run some games I do with just 16Mb. I'm certanly sure that there should be a way to run need for speed underground with a voodoo 3. I'll try to find a way to make it work.
as I said before, now I have Gforce Ti-4200 in my P4. and the voodoo 3 is in the P3 800 Mhz, 256 Ram, SATA HDD Seagate. however, I would apreciate any help about the topic.

On my v5 agp, I run the game @ 640x480, if I turn it up to 800x600 it crashes to desktop.  If I turn the textures up too high it'll crash to desktop.  The voodoo5 is a 3yr+ old vid card, the voodoo3 5yrs+.

I wish you luck and hope u can prove me wrong as it'll make a lot of users happy on this forum, but I stand by my words: it will not work on a 16mb vid card.  :)

I think this is due to a config file, check out what I found while rummaging around:

Quote3dsetup.ini
Product=Need For Speed Underground
RegistryKey=EA Games\Need For Speed Underground

TB_Button=0
Hide_Resolutions=1

CARD_3Dfx Voodoo5
CARD_Matrox G200
CARD_Matrox G400

So, it's trying to lock the resolution on these cards...this is very odd, considering half these cards aren't even supported.

eh, I'm not saying that you're wrong, is just that I've seen voodoo cards doing what other stroger video cards can not. I haven't had too much time to work it out. but I saw the game and in my opinion, voodoo 3 can handle that kind of game.

as soon as I achive it, all let everyone to know....
if any one finds a way to run the game, please let me know.:) I'll try to run it
