- All VoodooRush's are not 8mb : this is even very rare because i know only a version : the Hercules Stingray 128/3D S3318 (TV) (4 MB texture memory, 4 frame buffer).
- Many VoodooRush's own in fact 6 MB (2 MB texture memory and 4 MB frame buffer)
- Some (very rare) own only 4 MB : the ViewTop Rush 3D or perhaps also the Biostar Venus 3D

All these cards are 2D/3D cards : the 3D with  the VoodooRush chipset (two 3D processors in reality) and the 2D with the Alliance chipset AT25 or Alliance AT3D.
You have also the version Macronix : the 2D with the Macronix MX86251 (e.g Apollo 3Dfx by Joytech)
---------------------------------------------------
I don't know Voodoo1 (aka Voodoo Graphics) with 8 MB : it was "only" 4 MB (2 MB texture memory and 2 MB frame buffer) or 6 MB (the card has 4 MB texture memory) like the Canopus Pure 3D (with TV output) or the MiroHiscore TV (same)

EDIT : i forgot :D
but a Voodoo1 with 8 mb exists : this is for the MacWorld and this is the MacMagic 3Dfx Voodoo1 by Village Tronic (4MB frame buffer, 4MB texture storage)

You don't need, indeed the VoodooRush owns a 2d and a 3d engine.

Quotedoes the macmagic voodoo1 works on the PC?
In theory, would be possible since this is a Voodoo(1) ; but the big problem is the driver (it's written for the MacWorld) and since this Voodoo1 owns really a special design, the VendorID is probably not recognized under MS' OS and perhaps that the driver under MS'OS would be also special.

First off, I think what you are trying to say is that you want to use a Voodoo Rush and a Voodoo Graphics (aka Voodoo 1) together, which would not make sense, although I'm not entirely sure if this is your intention. Voodoo Rush does have a 2D engine, it was the first 3dfx card to be 2D and 3D, although the 2D was done by a chip seperate from the 3D one, and this 2D chip was manufactured, as Nightbird said, usually by Alliance Semiconductor, or sometimes by Macronix. The 3D chips, which were manufactured of course by 3Dfx, were similar to the original Voodoo Graphics, but not entirely the same, there was some difference in the Glide that didn't allow them to use some programs specific to the Voodoo Graphics, which was the only other 3Dfx card out at the time (and therefore the only other card to use Glide), but I think this was patched in later Glide versions. Also, before you even consider it, the Rush and V1 cannot be used in any sort of SLI configuration or anything like that, that is just for the V2.

uhmm... My first voodoocard was a Biostar venus 3D rush. That card is also 6MB

I sold it when i bought my Voodoo3 2000. Now I regret i sold my voodoorush [:(]

But at that time no one over thought 3dfx would be gone
