I have been reading good things about the sis 648 chip set series
whats your opinion on which chipset and cpu to use both for stability as well as over clocking a pentium 4 system?.......

get a motherboard from a good company (abit/asus/epox). get a 533mhz p4 with low multiplier, and 333/400 mhz ram. get a big cooler and case fans.... start overclocking... :)
ECS K7s5a@ 147 MHz, Athlon XP 1600+@1825+, Voodoo5 5500 @166 MHz, 512mb pc3200

I am dead set on another asus mobo since thats all i ever use
the problem is i can't decide which one i really like the P4S800
Deluxe it seems to have it all. but i have not been able to find it anywhere THE P4SDX looks good too but i don't like the lay out especially the cpu being so close to the agp slot.

LD for stability I'd have to say go with the Asus P4S800D-E Deluxe you CAN overclock it to about 250 FSB with a decent processor (P4 2.4C)...Gigabytes arent so bad either but stay FAR FAR away from Soyo boards they work and run fine but don't overclock AT ALL no matter what you do and are poorly designed...just my 2 cents ;)

Sis motherboards shock out easily.Got a sis motherboard before I had the syntech motherboard, and my sempron blew it out.I don't know if the board we got was bad, but everytime we have had a sis motherboard its screwed itself over in about a month or 2.

Asus, or Asrock I trust the most.
