I´m trying to use TV-out on my Voodoo3 3500. :)
Everytime I check the box to enable output to TV and click apply, my screen goes blank!  ...but the TV output is fine.

I should be able to have both, ...monitor and TV-out, right [?]

-------------
A reply below mentions a check-box that is for dual or single output.
I have seen that check-box, but not anymore [:(]

For some reson that checkbox disapears, with that checkbox visable I got the dual output, the monitor-screen changed into a strange resalution but it worked for me since the TV-out was fine. :D

But how can I get that check-box back, ...and get it to stay [}:)]

--------------

A update on my problem, ...I seem to be able to get the checkbox mentioned above to appear everytime, but only if I use 256colors.

So the status on my problem:

1-I get TV-out and monitor output at the same time, thats good :D

2-I have to run my pc in 256colors (could change it when I use TV out, but not very handy), Thats bad [:(]

3-When using TV-out my monitor gets all "skewed" --- F**ked up resalution and a bit stretched [}:)] so I have to switch to TV-out when I´m about to use it. Can´t have it on, ready to go, all the time, thats no-good [V]

------------------------------

Above I mention that I´ve managed to get the "other" check box to appear when using 256colors, that is not the case. I lost the check-box again when changing the "signal type" (fronm NTSC to PAL) And I can not get it back !!! [}:)]

The file Glide sent, Clone-TVout.zip, did not have any effect that I noticed, so still in troublew guys.
p.s. : What kinda affect should that registry change have Glide?

Knuckles

normally, there is a case under the "enable tv-out" that says to shgow on both TV and Analog. check it.

Yes I want to be able to see the desktop on the TV and the screen simultaneusly. [8D]

That check box you mention was there, ...but is no more! [?]

This check-box enabled single output, when checked I would only get the TV-out. But lef unchecked I got both (the monitor in a very strange reslution, but TV worked fine - I could always go back to normal reslution when I stopped using the TV)
But for some reson the check-box isn´t there anymore [}:)]

So now if I stop using the TV, I need to navigate back using my TV-scrren to disable the TV-out option wich is kinda hard since they are in diffrent rooms !!!

Thanks thou for the help, ...hope you can help me out a lil more :D

Nightbird

this is a driver issue : simutaneous tv out and monitor out were disabled because the difference in syn. rate between monitors and Pal TVs (60 hz/50 hz) had the potential to damage the monitor

the solution is in the registry but of course can be dangerous

Glide

For Windows XP environment you can use simultaneous TV and monitor  with latest Amigasport driver. The card makes the images on both the devices at the same refresh frequency.

For Windows 9X environment you can try to merge to OS registry this file  CloneTv-Out.zip and then reboot the system.

I'm in the same boat as oskare.

I have the same problem, except my tickbox appears using any colours.

How can I stop the monitor being all weird and stretched?

NightBird:
Sorry for the multiple topics, I´ll try to be good in the future :)

SunGod:
I have resolved the missing checkbox problem, it only appears when using NTSC, so if it´s missing you need to reboot the PC using TV-out and have NTSC selected. I assume the the monitor is blank, so you need to work on your TV [ or use "Alt-F4" and do it blind]
I´ve only tried this route, could work rebooting it witout TV-out selected, but make sure NTSC is selected.

The reson for all this is related to your second problem, the weird monitor display.

So far my theory is this:
The TV-out and the VGA-out are using the same source, they are not independant of eachother. So the signal sent to the TV is the same displayed on the monitor. For that reson monitor displays a stretched image and the VooDoo card refuses you to use dual display in PAL-mode since it assumes the monitor can´t handle it (most can´t so it´s just making things idot proof)

Hope you understand what I´m getting at.

p.s.
My last hope is that I´m wrong, that there is a way of having PAL out on the TVoutput but still have a outpout to the VGA that it can handle.
One way out is two Video-cards [V]

SunGod

I see what you mean oskare.

I didn't have a problem with the tickbox appearing btw. But thanks for the help.

I guess I'll just use 1 monitor (TV) at a time then :D
