Hi LW_Hearse,

for capture with Voodoo2 I strongly suggest HyperSnap-DX. This program mainly requires for 3dfx cards to enable "Special Capture (DirectX, GLide, OpenGL)" setting in Capture menu and to use its corresponding button.

Let me know if you just have done thus.

Hi,

Yes, I have tried hypersnap but its not working and I've downloaded several others too but alas no screen capture of 3dfx games

Well if you have the 3dfx Tools, there's a screen capture option that you can map to a key and caprture, well, lol, screenies...or you can just hit the "Print Screen" key, and then go to MS paint and hit paste...

the 3dfx tools don't work with the Voodoo2 ;)

I use HyperSnap here with a good success rate.  What OS are you using LW_Hearse?  I mainly game on Windows 98.

There are certain specific games that don't seem to capture with HyperSnap but they're few and far between.

I use the Win 98 OS. Now I used to be able to capture with hypersnap using v5500 but now no joy with v2's SLI. The game I primarily play is Red Baron 3d and I used to capture no problem. This seems V2 specific.

Under Windows 98 here I'm able to capture Red Baron 3D (with Full Canvas Jacket Superpatch not that that would make any difference) from my Voodoo2 SLI card with no problems.  I'm using the 3dfx 3.02.02 (final) reference drivers and HyperSnap DX5 with all settings at default except, as Nightbird says, enable Special Capture under Settings.  Then I use the Scroll Lock key to take a capture.

I solved my own problem. If you are getting black screens with hypersnap, then open the DX diagnostic tool and disable direct3d acceleration. Then it should work. :-)

Drat! and Doubledrat!

The problem came back now no capture of glide games is possible. What's causing this? I've got no idea.
