I had a discussion with someone on a Dutch forum in which we talked about the memory on Voodoo 3's.

I made the following statement;
V3 PCI versions have SDRAM
V3 AGP versions have SGRAM

Someone else stated;
Velocity's have SGRAM
Voodoo 3's have SDRAM

Now, I have reason to doubt that person's statement since there are only two Velocity's and three Voodoo 3's (not counting the 3500).

Can someone explain the situation with the SDRAM/SGRAM to me?

well, most PCI v3s had sdram, but some rare ones had sgram, i know of two owners. as for the rest, no clue

So there really is no pattern for which cards have SDRAM and which cards have SGRAM?

Well what you have is actually a "3dfx Velocity-100 AGP 8MB"

they run with core/mem 125Mhz Synchronised

The "3dfx Velocity-200 AGP 16MB" has also been mistaken by  a "3dfx Voodoo3 2000 AGP 16MB" but it does not run with core/mem 143Mhz , it also runs like the "3dfx Velocity-100 AGP 8MB" which is: core/mem 125Mhz Synchronised.

I own V3 2000 PCI SGRAM. It is very rare indeed, so i've heard. Card has 4 memory chips , not 8 like sdram's. Of course it is 16 MB card (4x4). Faster than V3 2000 sdram AGP which I had long time ago.. Great card !
