hi there,

as i just bought a new lcd tv for my living room, i reactivated my old pc with a 16mb pci voodoo 3 card.

it looks great at 1028x768, however, i can not choose 1360x768 for widescreen. i tried powerstrip, but no success.

any ideas on this? a special driver? tweaking, etc.? currently i am using the default windows xp drivers and powerstrip.

thx for your help ...

I guess that your lcd tv supports 1360*768 ?
What's the problem with Powerstrip (excepted that it doesn' work ?)

I can create a resolution of 1360x768 in Powerstrip, it writes it in the registry, then i restart, but i can not choose it? Is there somethin wrong? Yes, my LCD supports 1360x768 ... it is a Samsung 46" LCD ...

I have same issue with my Voodoo3 3000 AGP. I am trying to display 1360x768 on my SAMSUNG LNS3251 but The highest available mode is 1024z768. I have tried several of there drivers from the site as well as setting the custom display driver with powerstrip. No luck. This card should be able to run at 1360x768 right?

Ehm, an idea :
Does your monitor need an inf. file under Windows ?
If yes, does it allow all the resolutions supported by the monitor ?

edit :
I checked the inf. file of the Voodoo3.
It supports the 1024*768 or the 1152*864 modes so you would need to write the 1360*768 in the inf.

edit2 :
Is it the 1360*768 or the 1366*768 ?
Why ? i read in the LN-S3251D spec. sheet pdf "HD-grade 1366(H) x 768(V) pixel resolution"

I am also in the market for Sony BRAVIA XBR KDL-52XBR2 52" LCD TV. I
have been reading expert reviews and that has been useful to me.  It
may be help you too. I had been using PCWorld.com, cnet.com to find
reviews. Yesterday I also used PriceGrabber's expert review tab (http://www.pricegrabber.com/info_expertreviews.php/masterid=17646061)
and found a site (www.smartratings.com) that aggregates expert reviews.
It only covers a few categories but it is pretty neat. Just my $.02.
