Hi, thanks for the drivers, but I can't seem to be able to get the TV-out to work.  :(  I don't have any software with the card.  so I don't know if there's a program i need for this or not.  I tried every driver on this site, plus a few other sites.  I've got Win XP.  All i really want to do with this card is to get the TV out to work.  what do i need, or what do i need to do?  Please - Please - Please HELP!!!

What do you do exactly to get the tv out working ?
(don't forgot that the possible resolutions for tv-out are 640x480 and 800x600 on the Voodoo3)

As far as I know the TV-out works properly on V3 cards with Amigasport 3.0.
Did you try that driver as well ?

hi, thanks, i got a step closer now.  I reinstalled and so far everything with the 3dfx Tools looks great.  The only issue I seem to have now is the display properties (settings), I still have no options for using the TV as a 2nd monitor.

Did you install AmigaSport 3.0 XP Full Version - with 3dfx Tools ?
If yes, click on "Advanced", there should be a tab where you can select TV-out.

you cant run the monitor and the tv at the same time, turning on the tv-out will turn off your monitor and vice versa.

I am sure that I had both TV out and Monitor working at the same time, I think that I got it working using the last 3dfx driver set tools under win2k though. It was a while ago though. If it is a PAL TV system, I doubt that Amigersport will give you a TV out signal.

You enable the TV out through the 3dfx tools, there should be a 3dfx TV tab in the tools, that will enable TV out support, you can have simoultaneous TV and monitor display output, although it tends to look crap on the monitor. You may need to use an SFFT driver to get PAL output to the TV to work.

Check also in the registry that you have
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\3dfxvs\Device0
and
the stringvalue "allowPALCRT" with the value "1"

Note that the Pal version of the TV-out uses 50Hz to display the image. If you use the Tv-out and the monitor at the same time, both will use the same frequency (50Hz) and all monitors can't handle 50Hz so do it at your own risk.
The Ntsc version uses 60Hz so probably "easier".

Hello, I have a problem getting TV-out with my Voodoo 3000.
I linked the S-Video-out port on the back of the Voodoo 3000 card to a s-video to composite converter cable that came with Radeon 9600, which works perfectly fine with Radeon 9600 and both NTSC&PAL TVs.
Everything seems fine but TV-out doesn't seem to work.
I'm using Win2000 Pro SP4 on a ASUS VIA cuv4x-e motherboard with Pentium 1000GHz, 4x64mb SDRAM.
I installed AmigaSport 3.0 XP Full Version following the instructions, set my display settings to 800x600 32bits
and in the 3dfx tools I selected TV-out option, and the monitor looks crappy as expected, but my TV is black.
I've tried Composite & S-Video signals, switched between NTSC and PAL but it just won't work. Fyi my TV is an analog NTSC one with composite input.
I wonder if the Radeon 9600 cable is not compatible with Voodoo cards, it seems stupid, bu that's all I can think about.
Tell me if you have any suggestions.

Edit:
I downloaded Voodoo 3 Bios version 2.15.07 from http://3dfxbios.stantoworld.co.uk/html/bios.html
and flashed it.
Unfortunately, I hadn't backed up my original bios nor remember its version.
Could it be the cause?

alot of times those converters that come with the video cards are proprietary. Try going to your local electronics store and getting a universal one. If flashing the BIOS was the issue, you wouldnt be able to use the card at all
