OK! I just got a voodoo5 5500 AGP version.

I wanna chuck it into my overclocked ASUS P2B-D mobo.
Anyone know if the V5 can take 89Mhz on the AGP port?
This is 33% higher than the 66Mhz when running stock 100Mhz FSB!

Any help much apprieciated!

I wouldn't try that, imo 89 is too much. Even 75 would be dangerous.

I would definitely try. The 5500 does not have a Hint bridge that can burn out. The worst scenario would be that your pc will not boot, or it will show artifacts even in 2d.

I don't see a problem with that.  at 2X the bus is barely creeping along anyways.  mine ran at 80Mhz long long ago with no problemo.  that was as fast as the motherboard would go at the time.

Yo, try it, the card won't die or even burn. But I don't think that 89 MHz will be possible. That's 35% overclocking!

I think I already had it running in 2D accidentally and it was OK. Wasn't game enough to go 3D until I asked here on the forum.

I'm thinking of overclocking the BIOS to match the AGP bus speed just for compatability. And go for extra cooling while I'm at it.

Eventually I want a system that I can do benchmarks between the PCI and AGP and just see the differences.

Anyone know what the best tool to find your actual AGP bus speed?

Best tool is to compute it yourself by knowing the FSB you are using. If you don't like this method, than just use Sandra or any system diagnostics software.
