Maybe it could be like this

I have a voodoo2 that shows this kind of textures (all pixelated). My machine:
P3 900
intel810 onboard
WinXP

The resault is the same with FastVoodoo2 and koolsmoky glides. Is my V2 defective?[:(]

It seems that something at a hardware level is deffective. I would do a fresh install. Uninstall Voodoo2 drivers; take the video board out of the PC. Turn the PC on with the Voodoo2 not plugged in. Clean every registry entry; delete every driver file that could possible still be around. Download the drivers again and leave them ready for installation. DO NOT USE THE SAME PACKAGE OF DRIVERS THAT YOU USED BEFORE. Then, turn the PC off and start all over again. Plug the Voodoo2 in a different PCI slot -if possible-; install the drivers again and see what happens.

oh yeah I have the same problem like on screenshot. I must say that I install another drivers for Diamond Monster 3D II then everything started to look like in sli mode (its disabled in driver options). I tryied to run nfs 3 and its look less ugly now but I don't know why. I eject card from pci several times. Please help. This voodoo eats my nerves. Yesterday I almost scrap my old computer from window (on 9th floor).
I tryied to run this card on few computers with few kinds of drivers. Every time it was the same ugly texture.

Seems to me this problem is caused by a faulty TMU. If there was a way to disable one of two...

re up: what is TMU?
When I looked at the photographs of voodoo 2 I saw something strange. On my voodoo sli port is not on top but to the left from monitor port. I decided to look clearly on my card. I saw that on the back its have a cover from fc for home and office use and: trade name: creative labs, model number: CT6670 serial no: t6670840154445, and another printed on card numbers: 701az923c 710a and 711b1852b, and another on the top: very small - model:ct6670 and copyright creative technology ltd 1998 made in singapore. When a I reconize that I found a creative 3d blaster drivers. I decided to install them but when I do that I don't see any changes so I installed older driver. After instalation and restart my computer crash and I can't run windows because 'explorer' is giving ****. Please write what are you thinking about that. I remember long time ago that card runs very good.
ps. sorry for my english (im from Poland ;)

Then I tryied install driver Creative 3D Blaster V2.18 for DirectX 6, for CT6670 / CT6671 (that means its my model), but the install progam give me a error that my card is not supported. What is wrong? I don't have any idea. Please help I must run it [}:)]
thanks for any advice

ps. my card looks something like this
Image Insert:

stanleyek hi
a TMU is a Texture Mapping Unit.
V2 has 2 of them and in my case 1 must not be working. The card thinks it can do mutlitexture, but has th resaults on the screenshots above. Of course all this is an asumption[8)]
So, envar masters, if you're out there, HOW DO I DISABLE MULTITEXTURE ON A VOODOO2[?]
Quotemy OS is win 98SE but I tryied a lot of drivers and every time is the same ugly screen
Try Fastvoodoo 4.6 or something (for win98). The card is responsible for the ugly textures, not the drivers[xx(]

ps47

create a batch file or insert directly to the register (dont do that unless you know what are you doing).batc hfile is easier, just create a txt file in the same folder where the game execitable is located, edit it with notepad, and type:

set SSTV2_NUM_TMUS=1
game.exe

where game.exe is your games executable :D (diablo2.exe for example).save and close notepad, rename the txt file to run.bat, and launch the bat.that should do it.

agrelaphon

thx, although i don't have the card at the moment, i'll try it as soon as posible[:p]

agrelaphon

Quoteset SSTV2_NUM_TMUS=1
That solved the poblem!
I tried the card today and it was working perfectly [8D], visualwise
The performance isn't great(1 TMU only), but at least it works
Thanks ps47
Now, off to trying those koolsmoky glides...
