well,if the directx game doesnt run with the latest evolution driver, the only thing you can do is install win2000 or xp and use the SFFT driver, its D3D core is more advanced than the one found in the evolution driver..what game is it btw?

Asherons Call 1

is there a later SFFT driver for win 98se? i noticed some alphas, but they all posted on that 56 pages thread, and is hard to find.

The SFFT drivers are W2k/XP only. You can find a link to the latest on this sites home page. Or you could try AmigerMerlin 3.1 R11, which uses a slightly earlier SFFT core, but has tools supplied with it.

damn...

AmigerMerlin 3.1 R11, wont even let me see anything, just white/blank screens.

Is it time to abandon fat32 forever!? ;P
Probably.

Screw paying 200$ for XP tho....

well, this driver is for Win2k and XP

edit :
For Throne of Destiny, you would need to meet the following system requirements:

Microsoft Windows 98 SE
Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me)
Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
256 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM)
733 MegaHertz (MHz) processor
2 gigabytes (GB) free hard disk space
32 MB DirectX 9.0 compliant video adapter with hardware T&L

Right ?

Yes, But I was playing ToD, nearly fine... until the last update, when they created more chat-channels.

Im 33mhz under the min req, 3d card not dx9 compat, and never had 2 gigs free ;p

You can turn grafics way down in game, and resolutions..

going to buy a new computer when I find money, wich is so lame just for one game I play.

You got problems when they did some updates to the game and you thought to change your drivers, right ?
About the pictures that we see, you used what drivers ?

the reason they had install / dll errors, was they are nt/2000/xp only.

the screens are a mixture from Raziels Evoltion, wickedgl ones? and the latest official 3dfx drivers for my card, and pre-post updates.

Im really starting to hate voodoo/my computer in general ;)

When minor updates, ruin everything....

I have to ask. How do you play a DX9 game with a Voodoo at all? DX is a hardware specification and if a video card doesn't have the hardware required by the specification, it can't run the game. Voodoo 5 came out all the way back in the DX6 era, so how can it possibly run a DX9 game if it doesn't have the shader versions required or hardware T&L or probably a lot of other things in the DX9 specification?
