Hi Teff (it's been a while):D
From what I remember, metabyte developed the high res mini driver optimizing (and recomended)it for Quake3 above 800x600 resolutions. However, according to my personal Q3 benchmarks[xx(], the high-res driver was all over the regular at any resolution (with the same quality). In some (1 at least) games the high-res driver doesn't work.
So, try them both and let us know the resaults:D

The voodoo3 2000 8MB isn't that a rare card ?

I wonder how the Benchmarks are of V3 2000 8MB vs. V2 1000 12MB :)

Actually his Voodoo 3 is Onboard
No way a 3DFX collector...just a 3DFX die Hard Player~~

let the VooDoo Roars!!

P4 Extreme Edition 3.4GHz
Asus P5AD2 Deluxe i925x
2GB DDR2 667 DDRRAM
Voodoo 5 5500PCI

ps47

voodoo3 8MB is faster, but it may run out of texture memory if you run an app with lot of textures in a high resolution.this wont happen with voodoo2 12MB,because the max resolution is only 800*600 ;)

seems WickedGL high res is too much for a 8MB display card..
No way a 3DFX collector...just a 3DFX die Hard Player~~

Gemail

In many games, I saw no difference, nor in performance, nor in quality, using the high resolution version against the regular version of the WickedGL. So this is a process of trial and error. If one works better for you with a particular game, stick with that.

As Gemail said it's "a process of trial and error".
put the

seta cg_drawFPS "1"

command in your config file and you're ready to test the mini drivers.
That is you'll be able to see the fps on screen (I suppose). Oh, and try mesafx also
;)
