Hi everyone,

As some of you may know, I have my own 3dfx-site. On this site someone has send me a question:

QuoteVoodoo3 3500 tuner and I can\'t switch from NTSC (US) to PAL-M (Brazil). It\'s greyed-out... any hints? Currently using 3dfx VisualReality TV Tuner Version 3.10.06 Build 406.
Thanks Guys

Joe

Since I don't really know a lot about 3dfx voodoo3/tuner cards, I was wondering if anyone knows the sollution to his problem. As soon as I know the sollution from you guys or from research, will send this guy a mail right away!

Any help is welcome!

Thx

I could be wrong but I think this is because you can only have one kind of tuner on the card. NTSC or PAL, so thats why its greyed out. It seems that Joe has the NTSC tuner and therefor he cannot select PAL.

Dont pin me down on this though, I dont have this card and I know little about it.

there is a small tool that will allow you to switch standards, but it only works under win9x..
Voodoo3 3500 Standard Select version 1.1

I Think I can give an answer for that, as I am from brazil tho. Well, Brazil uses the PAL-M standard for TV-everything. It is a country standard. There are lots of kinds of PAL-Xes. Theres PAL-E, the pure PAL, and Brazil uses PAL-M standard for instance. This way, graphics emitted on PAL-M are b&w for NTSC or just-PAL capable apparatus. What he needs is a PAL-M->NTSC transceiver, and everything would be just nice. In brazil it can be found for R$30,00 (R$ our currency) in 'mercado livre' (www.mercadolivre.com.br).
Mabybe the 'Standard Select' app from ps47 does the conversion from PALM->PAL or PALM-NTSC? One thing again to consider: pal-m is not pal.
