Well, guys.

This is an interesting news. *wicked grin*

The capabilities are impressive, I have to admit. Yet, they are USELESS, because that card cannot be used in gaming. Yep, tis true, boyz and galz! [}:)] You'll be stuck with Quantum3D drivers, because Q3D will never give away the SLI initialization routine... Bwahahahahahahah! *evil grin* I know that from THE BEST source available.

Oh, great Iwellius, can you give us some gaming benchmarks? I am sure my 6k is NOTHING compared to AAlchemy? Just some numbers... please... please... [}:)] So that people will know where their thousands of euros go... I'll give you a hint: MesaFX is the most advanced OpenGL available out there for Voodoos. Can you share with us your gaming experience with AAlchemy? *ghghghghghghghg*

Folks, before rushing to buy that monster (or wining about not having that money), ask Iwellius why is he selling it? Tired of keeping it in a box?

Jap, dborca, that's exactly why I am selling it.

Although all the stuff is included (Power Board & Sensor Board) and I managed to startup the card with a 550W power supply into Windows 2K, I couldn't really manage to start one of these benchmark prgs around.

But, be honest, you're not buying a card like this for gaming, do you? I'd predict that for most of these guys around here, it's a collectible item to exactly be in the box or whereever - as well as it is the case with V5 6K cards.

Anyway, I managed to get it working, at least I can assure this. But I am not an expert in getting a card like this (which is meant to be used professionally only) working smoothly with standart games for the masses, eh? ;)

dborca, you like to kill everyone's hopes and dreams, don't you[xx(]

[:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]

and I can almost bet that MesaFX wouldn't stand a chance of working with that beast. A damn expensive mantle piece, that's all you would have [V]

hmmmz, is it that different from a voodoo5 5500 and 6000? or are there just no good drivers which can use directx/glide/opengl using 8x vsa100 chips?

I don't understand why this is such a big deal o_0 because you can still get AAlchemy's from Quantum3D and they have even better versions then the one he's selling, the latest being the AAlchemy 8464 which combines up to 16 3dfx VSA-100 chipsets and 1 GB of dedicated graphics memory + tons other stuff...

I don't mean to be the idiot of the forum or the guy who acts like he knows alot...but I think I'm probably missing something here[?][?]

Also wouldnt the Rampage be more of a rare hard to find gem?

Well, considering that there are only two in existence (and only one working), yeah that would be kind of difficult. We go nuts over seeing the old AAlchemy cards because it reminds us of what 3dfx was, and still is. Seeing one of these cards bring in a few thousand dollars makes us to realize that our 3+ year old card still has a lot of life left in it.
