Aloha everyone,

Now I Don't have it anymore [V]

I Bought a, to be claimed  "3dfx Voodoo3 3000 PCI 16MB"

it's a rev 4999 A so it is pretty new

The bios version is:

2.15.05

and it has no original heatsink.

on the chip I read these numbers:

3dfx
355-0024-030
F20211.10C
0005 20005
TAIWAN 1301

wel that is all I can find on my Strange Voodoo3 3000 PCI 16MB

So I went to the Plasma Online site and this came out to my discovery over there:

Voodoo III 3500

355-0024-030

So I suppose it could then only be 2 rather familiar things:

1. Is this a Voodoo3 3500 PCI

2. Is this just a Voodoo3 3500 chip that has been placed on a Voodoo3 3000 PCI board

What is it it actually, because my mind is go'n on a strange trip now! [B)]

I hope someone can help me out here.

Friendly Regards,

well I still can't figure out what it really is, I even compared it to my 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI, but the core of my 2000 PCI has the specifications of a normal Voodoo3 2000 core, but my  STARNGE Voodoo3 3000/3500 PCI remains to be a mistery, then.

Is there another way to find out what it is [?]

I just need more answers, please help me out, anyone[V]

With more hope,

Obi-Wan Kenobi.

56k beware! I seem to recall that there was a non-TV version of the 3500 made, probably OEM or engineering sample, my memory does not serve me well. I suppose this could be both, a 3500 on a 3000 PCB, which would probably make it a full-fledged (with the right BIOS) 3500 PCI, or possible it is downclocked to a 3000, because of an abundance of 3500 chips and demand for the 3k. The thing I'm wondering about, is there a TV tuner? I suspect not, but one can only hope.

Well no there is no TV Tuner, the layout of my wierd Voodoo3 3000/3500 PCI Hibryd is exactually the same as my Voodoo3 2000 PCI, the only thing that is different is the 3dfx V3 VPU it's self and the Rev Numbers.

She's a very late one, Rev 4999 A, so I suppose that's she's from week 49 or the year 1999 and also first PCB of that time and i suppose that 3dfx had shortage of V3 3000 VPU's so they used the 3500 VPU's instead.

The foto's are being made this weekend, sorry about the hold ups, but my dad has an extreemly buisy job ;)

No fear the foto's will arrive shortly, also with pics of my 3dfx Velocity 100 AGP Rev 3399 A and Retail 3dfx VoodooTV FM PCI Rev 3200 D, just for the fun.:)
